-The snow is melting
-The blackbirds and robins are in the trees
-I saw a few people in shorts yesterday

We don't have spring so much as flip flopping weather then directly into summer heat. So 60s in winter is normal here. Though one thing does signal in that spring is creeping back - devastating tornadoes.

Tornadoes are really scary.

It's raining and it's cold here.

Still, I have Spring fever.
Yesterday, during a lull in the rain, I went to Home Depot to look for a geranium plant for my balcony...
I was the only customer there.

I have been seeing reports on CNN about the snow in England but did not realize it was in your area.

What do your babies think about that strange white stuff?

My yard & the shelter's yard are mucky, muddy, poopy messes.

My driveway has turned to quicksand (best drive out fast!).

No more milkbone snowballs!

My sweetie went for a walk in the park the other day and came home with a little daisy he picked.
One of those little tiny guys that lurks in the grass. I found a bottle cap to put some water in and it opened up and lasted several days.

The chives are starting to come up.

It's still light when I get home (if I don't do a bazillion errands on the way).

The birds have been especially chirpy
The sun is waking me earlier and earlier
I haven't had to bundle up like an Eskimo
And there is a confused honey bee buzzing me when I fill the bird feeder.

I have to remind myself that Spring is not really here yet, even though all the snow is almost gone and it's been raining most of the week.
I've started planting seeds inside though to get them started for spring planting. Can't wait to see them grow up!

I planted a few seeds inside yesterday as well.
The temperatures are dropping again, but it was nice to have that brief thaw.

Its still a month too early for planting seeds here. The unseasonably warm weather (our late January thaw) melted a great deal of snow but still lots left on the ground.

Ask me again in about 8 weeks!

The worst of it is down in the South, and i'm in the North. We were expecting it, but not as bad

The kids love it, so i put the heater on in the conservatory for them because they try catching the flakes. Sophie was chirping away with frustration because she couldn't catch them

signs of spring here...

Fred is willing to poop outside.

During the winter, its hard to get him to go outside.. he wants to pee quick and get his butt back inside where its warm.. I swear it takes longer for me to argue with him about doing it outside than what it would actually take if he'd just go do it!

You know its getting nice outside if he's willing to take the time to finish buisiness!
