Looking back, I think she was abused?

So, I've posted a couple time about Avalon's problems, where she'll go from perfectly calm to biting the living snot out of me. This hasn't happened in months but something else happened that got me thinking.
Avalon was in the closet (where I keep their food) and I yelled at her to get out. Instead of running out the door, she just flattened herself to the ground and kind of cocked her head to the side. I tried to shoo her but she just stayed flattened to the ground. Shes done this a couple of times when I've yelled at her, I'm wondering if her previous owners hit her or kicked her. Mya will run if shes yelled at but Avalon almost seems to be bracing herself when I yell at her?

I also remember back to when Avalon was having her "fits". I didn't really understand them at the time but now I think its kind of coming to me? I remember once she got into trouble she hid in the little tube on their cat tree. I felt bad so I went over to pet her and she grabbed my hand and bit down, HARD. At the time, I was mad that the lil' snot had bit me but if she was abused, maybe thats just her attempt at protecting herself if she thought something was going to happen to her?

Am I thinking too much into it? What do you guys think?

You may be right, but there is no way of knowing.

For whatever reason she is sensitive to loud noises, and sometimes gets into "Garbo Mode." Now that you know that, you can work around it.
