I had Harriet laid to rest about three weeks ago. The cancer had spread to a point where it was starting to be difficult for her to breathe so rather than allow her even a day of suffering, we had her put to sleep.

It was the worst day of my life and I will always miss her. She was my soul mate and loving companion.

She was sassy and bossy right up to the end and I am thankful from the bottom, deepest part of my heart that even though I only had a few years with her that I did have those few years.

It took 10 years for the universe to put us together, but I know that in the deepest reality she was meant to be mine and I hers. There aren't any words to express how much she meant to me.

There are new cats in the house now, but still a hole where she was.

I miss you, fat lady and I will love you until the day I die.

Condolences on your loss of precious Harriet. Bless you for having the courage and strength of allowing her a peaceful passing, and sparing her a horrific fate.
Years ago, a lady had told me that she believed that some cats are our "Sphinx cats" who are guardians of our dreams - sorta like soul mates. It sounds to me like Harriet was that for you

Miss Tobie was that for me, and taught Joey well, because he is my new "Sphinx cat". He monitors my health & can tell me if I need to go the doctor.
I hope that Harriet teaches some unborn kitten all that it needs to know to fill her position in her heart, and that you find another Sphinx cat soon.
