My Tigger had that cold and it really put her under the weather. She wouldn't eat for about 2 days, and she only drank a little. I took her to the vet, worried she was dying, but she just needed a bag of subq fluids. Today she was really congested this morning, but is much better now. She's eaten several times, and is sitting by me purring. Whew! I was concerned because she is 19.

Thats why I do not use the pounds to fix my cats.
I wish I had known that it was so different from our USUAL vet!!
I still do not understand why they made him stay overnight.
I really complained AGAIN about that today. She said to me with attitude, HE was exposed from the day he GOT here, so the extra night would not have mattered!! I was so angry, it was so insensitive of her, my cat is sick from being THERE and she gives me ATTITUDE
I hope he feels better. THANKS!!
Levi also has a BAD sore throat and isn't drinking much today. It is terrrible, he looks like a turtle when he swallows and no he has a squeak on the end of his BARK? SOOO, because he isn't drinking that I can see, I am giving him syringes of water about every 2 hours to keep him hydrated.

I even went and got him some wet food, he wants NOTHING to do with it... I have only given him dry kitten chow, because I can't find wet kitten anything here... I KNOW he feels bad when he won't eat something that smells FISHY!!!

I am thankful that I got him to the Dr. today, as I don't drive, (always fun) NOW maybe he will start to feel better with the EXTRA money I had to spend on MEDS.... YEP, they cover the re-visit after surgery but any meds needed are MY resposibility.. I paid as much for meds today as I did to have his surgery!!!! MONEY MONEY MONEY to them!

I know I will NOT take him there for ANYTHING EVER AGAIN..

I lived and learned that finding the BEST price for his neutering, cost me more in the long run because he got sick... HOW selfish of me.. I feel so bad for that...

I love you LEVI, sorry baby!!

WOW, 19, BOY you guys must have been worried!!

We just lost a kitty in September, they told us first that he had a URI, then it turned out to be cancer... so today when we took him in, I told my 13 yr old daughter that he just has a cold and she said, "Yea, thats what they said about TOM"

I hope TIgger is doing better now!!
I'm sure Levi will feel much better after a few days on meds!!! The worst thing tonight is that he has a sore throat and won't drink, so I am forcing him water. ((("SNEEZE" in the background!! LOL )))

again, "SNEEZE" I better go take my sick baby and snuggies with him.. "SNEEZE, SNEEZE" Levi says!!

Good night!!!

Tigger is MUCH better, thank you! She ate normally last night and this morning. It was so weird...yesterday she actually got into the shower with me - with it running. I think she liked the steam.

Unfortunately, my second-oldest, Clyde has it now, and is sneezing up a storm. He's not as congested yet, so we'll see...I hope Levi is ok.

My vet told me yesterday you can get vouchers to have them fixed and then use the vet.
I never knew that before.
I am glad Tigger is better.
I hope Levi is ok.
You can file a compliant with the california vet board.
I did that once.
Do not blame yourself for Levi being sick it is their fault.
I have a sick cat right now also.
My Cleo got sick when she came here.
My poor Oreo lost her voice a few weeks ago and has a terrible cough now. My almost 17 year old cat got sick also but she did not get it real bad.
Luv Furbabies,Sorry you lost your other cat.
I was told Coco had lung cancer and heart problems when it was a severe uri and severe asthma by the vet a very bad vet that is now shut down.
We only went there once.
Strange medicines they gave your cat.
My cats never had those before.

I tried to use that, got a voucher for $35 neuter. When I called the vet they said with bloodwork, anesthesia, pain meds, it will cost $120 even when you use toe voucher. I was shocked, then the voucher probably only save $5-10. Maybe it's different in california.

Luv Furbabies- It is not your fault, even if they provide services at lower cost, they are still under the same regulations as other vets..I think it could have happened even at an expensive vet. It's just a risk that has to be taken unfortunately
There is no way they can avoid spread of infections 100%- even if they sterilize tables and do all the right things, it can still happen.

Levi propped himself IN the toilet for a fresh drink of water today!

I laughed so hard, and just let him sit there with his back paws on the toilet seat and his front paws in the bowl, just above the water line? What a wierd kitty

He still has the TURTLE type swallow going on, and the terrible sneezing.

His antibiotics are unusual?? I know that gentamiacin is a common one used with PEOPLE. I have used it in the coarse of treating patients as a Respiratory Therapist. Doxycycline is another one that I have heard of in human treatment, I guess it isn't different for animals??

"sneeze, sneeze" Poor baby, I have been calling him "SNEEZEY" like the 7 dwarfs

I hope these meds work! She did say it could take 14days to notice an imprvement.

LEVI IS EATING RIGHT NOW!!!!!

We are currently giving one of our cats Gentimiacin in the nose for a bacterial infection we're fighting.

How is that working for your kitties?? I hope that Levi starts making a turn! I REALLY want him to get a bit better so I stop worrying about him so much.

Now my 8 year old is doing some sneezing thing too!!
Samantha has NEVER been sick, EVER, the only time she went to the vet was to be fixed as a teen and get her shots, THEN. SO, I know for sure that the only thing she COULD have is Levi's URI thing.

Just 5 minutes ago, I gave her the same meds that I am giving Levi. Gentamicin Sulfate for their noses and Doxycycline for their oral anibiotic treatment.

MAN< this house, has 2 kitties with URI's, 2yrs human boy with pneumonia and high fever, and 7 yr old human boy with a serious asthma attack tonight, THEN my 13 daughter, also human for the most part, dislocated her knee cap tonight at jump rope practice! They are training for the regional competition next month, TOP7 move on to go to the Junior Olympics this June. SOOO, wee are having SO MUUCCH FUN WITH SICKNESS!!!!

I was feeling really bad for you with all that sickness on your plate - pneumonia? asthma attacks? This is some serious stuff, and my heart goes out to you all.

Then I read that you have a human for the most part 13-year-old - and I laughed out loud. (But not about her injury) I have one of those, too. (daughter, not injury) Do you get the eye roll? Shoulder shrug? Attitude?

I hope everyone gets better SOON!

Yes on the eye roll, shoulder shrug and SERIOUV attitude!! Do you also get the Mouth Clickish thing followed by the lovely, "HUUU BUT MOMMMMMM" yea, that IS my favorite

Sometimes I wonder how ANY of us made it through our teen years!! Tonight she is at the BIG 8th grade formal dance, (which cost me a grip!!

At the end of the day, I get over alot of the attitude, but on the rare occasion of complete DISRESPECT!! Then it's ON
LOL

The kitties seem to both be feeling a LITTLE better, I mean little, they are both eating and drinking and whatnot..

As for the kids, no the 7 yr old that is staying here has been throwing up, SHEESH...
I give up! My only consolation is that the 13 yr old is my only one, the others are friends staying here for a bit!!

Thanks for the understanding!!

When we moved my cat sneezed a lot for a couple of weeks. The vet said it was due to the stress of our move and his new home, etc. Your kitty might be stressed out from all the time at the vet and everything.

I hope they start getting better than this! Lamb baby food isn't even working.. I have had little sleep with these 2 sick... UGH

THanks,
Melissa

I wonder how many kids would make it to adulthood if they raised the legal term for abortion to birth plus 18 years?

No wonder Nebraska had to change their "get rid of your kid" law!
