my cat just give birth to 4 kittens, however only 1 can make it through..
now the problem is my cat seems not to give much attention to the kitten,
so the kitten will only have breastfeeding when i'm around..my question is

-can i draw milk from my cat for emergency use
-can the mother's milk to be put in freezer and how long i can keep it in the freezer
-is the mother's milk safe for the kitten

thanks.

yes, but i don't think you can 'milk' a cat.
the just born brand has colostrum, btw. comes in a powdered & liquid form. i liked the liquid because it was so difficult to get the lumps out w/the powdered variety.

Actually, if you know how to do it, you can "milk" a cat. I personally don't know how to milk a cat myself, but my vet does! However, I don't know if freezing the cat's milk will be of any use.

Make sure the kitten stays warm, a cold kitten cannot eat. If it seems weak, you can put corn syrup on its gums to give it an energy boost.

Any update on the kitten?? Sending prayers and vibes that mama-kitty figures out how to be a better mom, and that baby does well on the bottle
Kudos on figuring out how to milk a cat
