Hello from Texas

Hello Everyone,
My name is Gina and I just wanted to introduce myself. I have 4 wonderful kiddos and an awesome husband. We also just got a 2 year old Persian who is trying to warm up to us. He is still hidding but we hope he comes around in the next few days.

We are also looking for a long haired kitten. My husband really wanted the Persian we got yesterday and I really like him as well but I really really want a little kitten that can grow up with our kiddos as well. We have to have long haired cats due to my husband being allergic to short haired cats, weird I know, but true. I am looking for a light colored or calico long haired kitten so if anyone has a kitten like this (a mutt cat is fine by me, I'd really rather it be a mutt cat) please let me know, and of course it would need to be here in Texas, lol.

I'm glad I found this forum, it's got some great info on it and I'm sure everyone here is great! Thanks for reading and hopefully I will find my fur baby really soon.

Hi Gina, welcome to the TCS! Make yourself at home. Can't help you with a kitten as I'm about 600 miles from you, but good luck in your search. Just be careful with kids and kittens and watch them closely. Injuries can go both ways.

I'm trying to think; we have a calico at the shelter, who appears to be a British shorthair. Round head, very thick not-quite-long hair. Dilute calico, I should say.

Oh, and we had a long-haired calico kitten last Monday, but I wouldn't bet on her still being available.

I'm in the south Dallas area.
