When we visit my parents.. my dad's Standard Poodle, Barney, is just infatuated with my daughter, Seinna. He watches over her, and then pouts when we leave.

Here he is watching over her while she plays, careful not to lay on her blanket.. she is just as curious about him, she focused on him for a while while she laid there.

thanks
..

she's only a month old, and is already developing her likes and dislikes.. the recent discovery is that she's developed a taste for Opera music.. she likes it better than the simple tunes that her toys play.

Put Phantom of the Opera or Les Mis in the CD player and she calms right down!

She likes it when I sing along.. God only knows why.. there are Opera singers in the family, but Im definantly not one of them!

Barney is such a good dog.. my parents have had him a little over a year now.

My dad had wanted a Standard since I raised one about 12+ years ago for Pilot Dogs.. the poodle I raised went on to be a guide dog.

An aquaintance from the Crested forums had gotton Barney.. she made a trip out of state to get this dog, under the impression that he was a trained service dog. Her and her hubby made a mini vacation out of the trip. On the way home tho, she had went into a diabetic coma and died. Her hubby was abit overwhelmed with now being a single dad and all the pets. He had decided to find a new home for Barney, and he eventually rehomed the cresteds as well.

We had come to find out that the people she got the dog from were some kind of scam artists.. shortly after she got Barney, the people were busted for child pornography and when they investigated the home, also discovered animal neglect.. there were dead puppies in the freezer, the home was dirty and cluttered.. and I think they said there were 20-some dogs, some in poor condition. I had heard rumours that they were selling some of their dogs claiming they were service dogs.

Barney sure came from a very dramatic background. All I can say is I'm glad he didn't become one of those poor puppies dead in the freezer. I hope those people who sold him got what they deserved.

Poodles are known to be very intelligent and protective, and clever Barney sure doesn't let the breed down!
