Prayers and vibes for Maisie

Linny - did she and Kitty get along? Do you think his passing and "disappearance" has stressed her out, bringing this on or making it worse? I wonder about things like that...

Sometimes kitties mourn, sometimes they don't.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow - at least the liver can regenerate itself, so hopefully they will be able to treat this. She could still have a thyroid problem though, any illness suppresses the thyroid.

Lots of prayers and for Maisie. I hope it turns out to be something that is easily treatable.

Kitty and Maisie didn`t get along. Maisie used to live practically full timein the bedroom because they wouldn`t get along and Kitty moved out for a few months when I first got Maisie
We even had a pet behaviourist come and visit us.

Thank you

Well, she went in friday morning and spent 24 hours on a drip and is on another course of antibiotics and she was given cortisoid while she was there.

She came home saturday lunch time because she had perked up and was rehydrated and eating

She is going back monday for a check up and they will re-test her blood in a month to see if the enzyme levels are going down.

She is still not 100%. I mean she will never be 100% but she is not back to her usual self. She is still not eating enough or drinking.

So, the vet said no steroids over the weekend so she can see if they are what helps her. She said if the levels are not down in a month she will have to go on a liver diet and that she is not ruling out thyroid problems ( good catch Booktigger!
)

She is going to look at her eyes again tomorrow. I like her much better than the new vet

Fingers crossed for her, and i am glad she has perked up enough to come home - sadly it wasn't a good catch, more that I have a cat with suspected liver and thyroid probs, he has just had his re-done, but we wont know till tomorrow what they say.

I think she is a lot more experienced than the other one

Well, we went for check up and she is on steroid tablets for a week then she is going back next monday for ultrasound of her liver, pancreas, spleen etc. She said they can do a needle biopsy of her liver at the same time if they don`t see any obvious tumour, so we should know one way or the other.

I said that she was eating but not a great amount and she said she is looking flat again, so we are starting on a liver diet now if she will eat it. Got to pick it up tomorrow.

She can`t have the depot injection because if it makes her worse it will still be in her system for some time, so we will battle on with the pilling. I forgot to buy some pill pockets today but I`m sure she wouldn`t eat them anyhow.

Oh, and she has lost a little more weight

Fingers crossed - my vet doesnt' prescribe liver diets anymore, she finds cats wont tolerate them.
