what does DH and other such things mean?

sorry to sound thick, and im sure this isnt the place to ask, but i have seen a few of you use DH when talking about your other halves, what does it mean?

im sure i have seen others use differnt ones too??

sorry again, im sure its obvious....

lol I honestly have no idea what the D stands for but I know the H has to be for husband...

[dear/darling/dopey/dippy/dumb, depending on one's frame of mind at the time] husband

Applies also to DW[ife], DD[aughter],DS[on],etc

Then there's B[oy]Friend/G[irl]Friend

Those are just off the top of my head. You get the picture.

ahh don't worry about it!! I didn't get it at first either. I acutally had to ask my friend who got me hooked on this site what it means.

DH - dear husband (or if mad - darn husband)
DW - dear wife
DD - dear daughter (DS - dear son)

LMAO - laughing my a$$ off
LMBO - laughing my butt off
LOL - laugh a lot or laugh out loud

Any ones in particular you have a question about?

Awww hon, it's ok. I actually ran into the appreviation 4 years ago when planning my wedding. Actually, it was a wedding planning forum so everyone was using DF (dear fiance)....I thought for weeks everyone was just marrying people with the same initials!
