My cat makes this funny noise a lot, and I've never heard another cat make it. It tends to happen after she stretches. She'll lick her chops and make this sort of chuffing sound out of her nose. She's not sick, it's just a little habit that she has. Does anyone else's cat make this silly noise?

Prissi has what sounds like sinus congestion on random occasions, similar to what you describe. Comes and goes in a matter of seconds. She's had it from the day I took her in, a couple of years ago. She's the happiest, healthiest kitty, so I wouldn't necessarily be concerned if that's the only symptom.

Yep, I know exactly what you're talking about. Kit does the same thing. Kit's mother had sever asthma and Kit has had maybe one or two attacks in her life but I don't think they're related.

My recue tortie, Kasey, does the same thing.

At first I was concerned it was a chest wease but it is nasal, al most like a type of purring.

She doesn't do it when she is active so I doubt it is a respiratory issue. She makes the noise, at random when at rest, it stops immediately if some intersting "distraction" occurs, leading me to believe it is just anothe noise she choses to make.

Oh yeah, Maia definitely snores, and often makes this odd grunt like sound when she stretches out! Sometimes I hear her snoring when she is sleeping and don't know what it is! Is it a leak, is it something left on, is it from outside???? Nope............ it's Maia snoring

Hehe, Mony doesn't really snore, but she does sometimes sound a little squeaky when she's sleeping in certain positions.

It's so funny that other people's cats do the snuffle thing! I wonder what the human equivalent is...clearing your throat?

Lol, Friday snores too! It's this soft little whistle but it wakes me up faster than my husband's loud room-vibrating snore! Between the two of them and the dog I sometimes think about moving out.

Ella doesn't snore, but she definitely has a "snork" in her purr. But she has other allergy issues, too, so that's not too shocking.

My Carson does this as well. I find it extremely cute! He'll go more like:

snuff snuff SNUFFFF (ending with a long drawn-out one like a dog sniffing)

my little one snuffles sometimes. i used to be concerned about her being sick, but after several vet visits were sure shes fine.

its like she has some boogers stuck in her nose and she being gross and snorting them in. eew, i know, but thats what it seems like.

Swanie sometimes lets out a "huff" sound, like loud exhaling.

Cindy makes all kinds of odd noises. When we first got her, I was concerned she had ashma, but then I realized she makes that sound when she gets excited, like watching Swanie play or if I get a toy out. She also makes a little "moany" sound when she gets excited too. Oh yes, and despite being a petite little 7 pound cutie pie, she can snore up a storm.
