What's the habit you're proudest of breaking?

For me, it is biting my nails.

I wish I could stop biting my nails.
Tried, failed. Tried, failed. Tried, failed. vicious cycle.

I must suck at breaking habits because I can't think of one habit I've broken.

Smoking!
I quit cold turkey back on April 14, 1990 and haven't looked back! Tho I still get cravings for a cigarette to this day. I know I'm one cigarette away from being a pack a day smoker again, and when that craving hits, it's like battling a giant, but I've done it for almost 19 years now and I know I'll never ever go back to smoking again because I know if I just fight off that craving, it will go away.

Cutting out the "bad" deserts in 1995, when I found out I was diabetic. I eat mostly sugar-free/low-sugar ones, with tastes of the "lesser-of-the-two-evils "real" desserts occasionally. I haven't drunk non-diet soda, juice, etc., since 1995, either.

I quit biting my nails when I left College in 2003...I decided to do that when the nerves of all my exams were finally over
And I haven't done it since then as the very thought makes me feel queasy now.

I have a suggestion that may help. Start cleaning out from under your nails. Look at what accumulates - dirt, dead skin cells, bacteria, maybe even mold or fungus (they love dead skin cells). If your nose is sensitive enough you'll smell this on your hands even if you wash them a lot.

That's what broke me of biting my nails.

I know all that but it hasn't stopped me biting my nails.

Getting married!
I found that my magic number was 5. No more. That's it!
Five is kind of nice and denotes experience. BTW, I am currently married to DW number five. Yep, don't need any more practice, think I got it down now.
