My cat Vegas is about 10 months old. Nicest cat in the world, but I think she might be pregnant. I didn't notice her in heat but she did go out often because she loved to play outside with my other cat (female) around the same age. She has started eating a lot more than she normally did, and her belly has enlarged dramatically in the last week and a half. Her nipples are also more prominent and the hair on her stomach is more matted and thick. She's always been a very cuddly cat, so I haven't noticed her being more affectionate than she already is. So do you think my little Vegas is pregnant and if so about how long until the babies come? Or do I just need to stop spoiling her and put her on a diet!

This is Vegas!

This is the only picture I've been able to take so far of her weight gain.

I would say there is a good chance she is pregnant - cats do not have to be in heat to get pregnant - when they are in heat they are just more receptive to male advances, but that is not the only time they are fertile, as they ovulate upon completion of the mating act. This can happen any time from 4 months old onwards, which is why it is recommended to get them spayed from 4 months old.

If there is a chance she may be pregnant (ie if she is unspayed and has been allowed outdoors unaccompanied) then you must take her to the vet for a checkup - if she is carrying kittens she should be fed kitten food. She is very young for motherhood poor thing, I hope that she isn't pregnant, but if she is fingers crossed for no complications.

Also provide with water and set up a birthing/box area with newspapers, old sheets/towels and a litter box.

Yup, she looks pregnant to me. Are you able to keep her inside until she's had her babies? Or take her to a vet to confirm how far along she is? She'll be at least 4 weeks in from your description [28 days] and the average gestation is 63 days.

She looks pregnant to me. IMO an unspayed cat should never be allowed outside. They can get pregnant as early as 4 months old. And they don't have to be "in heat" to breed either.

I would confine her to the house from now on. Plan on keeping the kittens for a minimum of 10-12 weeks old and spay mom when they are about 8 weeks old. Do NOT let mom outside - she will get pregnant when nursing kittens.
