I wrote Cfa and they sent me the site to sign up for a mentor.
I have not heard back from them yet.
I could find nothing on the tica site.
I did look at cages today.

You mean the portable ones? I got a good deal (less the $100 for a special) online - its a rectangle - doesn't fold down a lot, but really like it better then the dome ones that fold down flatter.

This is the one (maroon) I got for Charlie - I love it. Its on sale. Only drawback is that it does fold down but it stays the size of the frame - you have poles to put in the top part. Doesn't fold down very small, but its good and its reasonable.

Plus I like the fact you can put the ribbons the cats win on this cage better then the rounded top ones.

Here are my show curtains [Ours are different to yours in the states though] A good friend made this for me.

Bart and his show curtains [They were made for his Mum, Flutterby]

Fluffy and hers

It's good to have colours that suit your kitty.

I like light colours for dark cats and dark colours for light cats. Plain fabric for patterned cats, so you aren't distracted by the background instead of the cats.

But for your first show you could just use some towels or something, just in case you or Cleo don't enjoy the day you haven't spent too much on materials.

I think Cleo will like it but she may not do well.
I was told that.
I do plan on getting a show cat this year.
Do I bring toys to the show?

What color is good with Cleo?
Thanks - my light blue set has little bits of string to tye them on and my dark blue ones have gold safety pins because there's a big gold bow on the curtains to match.

I'm not sure - maybe try her against your clothes and see if you can find a colour that suits.

Yup bring toys if she is a playful kitty. You can get some cool ones that attach to the top so they can show off or ones for the bottom like Fluffy's one her in her picture

I think your curtains go outside the cage? Ours go inside. Also you seem to have a top cover in pics I've seen online

The odds are always against you not to do well, at least over here. 30 or so cats competing for only 5 placings

But you never know, we have been lucky, twice I've gotten two in the top 5 at the same show
Usually I just get one cat up there.

If you buy the portable cages, you DON'T need any cage curtains like you would for the regular wire cages. I only have a towel in the bottom with a cat bed to curl up in. And I throw my spotted material curtains over the top to help make it a little darker inside. You don't really need that; I just use it cause its leopard print....lol

You will need to bring a litter pan/litter and the normal grooming stuff.

Normal grooming stuff???
For Cleo (and I admit I know nothing of grooming nekkid cats) I imagine I would bring clothes, wet wipes and a towel!
