Unbiased reporting

Yes, of course. Well, I don't think it's news to anyone that most of the media is heavily biased in favor of Obama. This isn't a new phenomenon; they don't usually like the outgoing administration.

But here are headlines about the inauguration 4 years ago:

"Republicans spending $42 million on inauguration while troops die in unarmored Humvees"
"Bush extravagance exceeds any reason during tough economic times"
"Fat cats get their $42 million inauguration party, ordinary Americans get the shaft"

Headlines about the Obama inauguration in the same papers:

"Historic Obama inauguration will cost only $150 million"
"Obama spends $120 million on inauguration; America needs A Big Party"
"Everyman Obama shows America how to celebrate"
"Citibank executives contribute $8 million to Obama inauguration"

Only 4? Surely a good place to compare would be 8 years ago when Bush was as new and shiny as Obama? Otherwise its just midterm complaining?

Eh, it will wear off...They are just trying to sell a story and apparently Obama has a 60% approval rating so far, so of course they will try to sell a story that the majority of people will like. I agree that they make a huge deal out of this inauguration. I personally think people went over board with celebrating the historical significance of electing Obama. And, I don't like how they made it all just about black people, I think it's great for the country that we have a new president, one who doesn't agree with the old Bush policies- I agreed with 90% of the issues he talked about during his campaign, and yes I'm happy he got elected, but the reason why I'm happy is not just because he is black. The fact that he is black made no significance in my voting choice and I honestly feel like African Americans were undermining themselves by thinking it was impossible for a black man to be president. They all went ecstatic, and I'm just thinking, this is a perfect example of the self fulfilling prophecy of many black people who end up in the ghettos and in poverty.

Here's a nice piece of "over-doing" it.

White House lawyers, apparently with few other pressing issues to press, are reportedly investigating ways of protecting use of President Obama's image all over the globe.

A whole lotta luck with that, guys.

Bloomberg News' Julianna Goldman quotes a White House spokeswoman: "Our lawyers are working on developing a policy that will protect the presidential image while being careful not to squelch the overwhelming enthusiasm that the public has for the president.”

What are the going to do Copy right his picture? Good lord! I personally think its all a bit insane. I am tired of hearing about how he is getting his daughters a dag and does anyone remember the girls first day of school at their new school?? How can we forget! One news staition read the lunch menu for the week.

The economy is going to hell in a hand basket and the White House is worried about Obama's image? Give me a break.

I have no doubt the Bush administration would have loved to kill the "dancing chimp" web sites, etc., but I just don't see how you can legally control that sort of thing.

His kids are a different issue, though. Ty should be ashamed of themselves, not for using the girls' names, but for denying it WAS their names!

Yep, big liberal democrat spending at it finest. What a waste of money. Guess they will need to increase the taxes on big corporations now to pay for it all.
