This is interesting:

Apparently Rahm Emmanuel talks to Paul Begala, James Carville, and George Stephanopoulos every morning, starting at 6 a.m.
Imagine, if you will, had Andy Card or Josh Bolton been caught calling Rush Limbaugh, Bill Kristol, and Brit Hume every morning, discussing the day's events, how to spin them, etc. How big would the fuss be?
Now, Begala and Carville are just pundits, as are Kristol and Limbaugh. But Stephanopoulos is CNN's chief White House correspondent, as Brit Hume was for Fox at one time.
Of course, this is always the problem with Washington and New York newspeople. It is a small circle, and there are some very odd connections in the crowd at all times.
After all--Carville is married to Mary Matalin. And she at one time referred to him habitually as "Snake Head."
