Myah has a runny eye. Sometimes it appears half closed especially in the morning. I have to pick the crud off her eye from time to time. She came from a slob breeder with URI and probably feline herpes. She's about six years old and this has been going on since she was a kitten. I'm wondering if anybody has any thoughts about this. TIA

I have no experience with this but someone will be along, I'm sure with some advice for you. Good luck.

I'm guessing it's the herpes causing the runny eye. Won't know for sure unless diagnosed by a vet.

Pixel's are runny - i pick crud off of hers everyday.
altho i also had a vet tell me her tear ducts are closed [surgical fix only]. if she ever has to have surgery for something else [
that that DOESN'T happen!] they can fix it then, assuming it's not just the herpes, which she does have.
she also sneezes some.

First of all, get the Real PCR URD test to see if she has feline herpes. If so, then that's probably the cause of the runny eyes. You can try adding L-Lysine to her diet, at least 500mg a day. You can give 1000 mg a day during an active flare up of the virus.

It could also be allergies.
