Hi to all,

Hopefully somebody has an answer to this.

My approximately 1 year old cat seems to have taken a liking to the wooden bars of our kitchen chairs. He seems to be chewing on them as he had teething issues. I know dogs need bones to keep healthy teeth and gums but cats?

What can I do to aleviate this problem? Are there any toys or even cat bones for them to chew on ?

Cheers,

Hmmm... at one year of age he should have his adult teeth. You can get him kitty kong type toys ... people here also give their kitties plastic drinking straws to play with and chew on. You could also get him "pawbreakers" -- these are chewable, edible catnip toys for cats. Also - put something on the wooden chairs that he won't like the taste - such as bitter apple spray. You should be able to get that at a pet store or online.
