Norman passed peacefully to the Bridge this evening, he was a very lucky boy in that the people who found him wandering on teh street didn't ignore him, or listen to the other rescues advice (either put him outside with a collar on or pts), and he had just over 2 months here full of love, warmth and food (probably the most important in Norman's mind!!), and allowed to go while he still had some dignity. Walking into my kitchen wont be the same for quite a while, RIP little one.

Thanks for the thoughts, it doesn't matter how many times you go through this, it doesn't get any easier, and in fact, might be a bit harder each time - I so wanted to ring up and cancel his visit, but I knew I couldnt do that to him, and I had a sneaky look at his mouth as he dribbled on one side and it wasn't nice, and we couldnt have done much about it, so I know it was the right thing, and I think I got the timing right as he had started to leave a bit of food. The vet thinks he could have been as old as 20 looking at his face though, bless him and didn't know how I could keep going through this, and to be honest, I have no idea either, but knowing that he had a good couple of months does help a lot.

I am so sorry! But as you have said, at least he got a couple of months in a safe, warm place where he was cared for and loved. Bless you, for helping the old ones.

I'm so sorry to hear about Norman.
I'm so glad, though, that he spent his final months with you, knowing warmth and love. RIP sweet boy.

Bless you for giving Norman such love and comfort
You were his guardian angel here on Earth, and now he joins your other kitty angels over RB, to watch over you from afar.

You took him in when the odds against him were so great - this, after your earlier losses- talk about the courage to love, lose & LOVE again - you are an inspiration to rescuers everywhere

Thanks for the lovely comments, they really do mean a lot, and the support from here is partly the reason I can continue to help cats like Norman.

I`m so sorry you lost Norman
But I am so pleased your heart was big enough to give him that love and care in his last few months
I really admire what you do.

Rest In Peace
