I was wondering if my kitten has a cold or something, or if I'm just being the natural worrier that I am...

Toby has been sneezing a bit lately. Maybe 3-4 times per hour or so? I also noticed that yesterday when I was not feeling great myself, I slept all day in my room and so did she. Should I be worried? At first I thought the sneezing was due to all the dust in the house but my room is not that dusty and she still seems to be sneezing quite a bit.

I would rather not take her to the vet if I don't HAVE to, as funds are quite low at this time, but I will if necessary. The lady I got her from did say she was getting over a cold when I took her home... is it possible it never fully cleared up? What should I do?

Sounds like hr cold never cleared up.
Is she sneezing anything that has yellow or green in it.
I had a sick kitten and it took over a month for her to get better.
My other cat has it now.

No nothing in it but I took her to the vet (they squeezed her in) and they said it's probably a slight URI... I don't think anything too serious though. They prescribed a L-Lysine supplement called Viralys for it.

The thing that scares me is she's 4.5 months old and they found a heart murmur... I dunno what to do. The vet wants to see her again in a week to re-check her heart, but isn't available til Feb. 10th, so they'll check her then and take blood if it's still abnormal. Then if it is, they will send her to a cardiologist... I love Toby so much, I'm just pretty worried...

I know you said they gave her medicine and everything for her sneezing but I had another thought. You said you just got this kitty, right? Your kitty is probably making a lot of adjustments right now to a new home, etc. When we moved to a new house, my kitty sneezed for a couple of weeks straight. The vet said he was just under lots of stress and he got over it soon after. Hope yours gets all better!

OMG, my kitties too... We have been talking about Levi on another thread. NOW my other cat, Samantha is sick.. She seems worse to me because she has her mouth open to breathe...

A MONTH YOU SAY
THIS sucks!!

I am very angry at the place that I took Levi to to get fixed. I try to save a buck and get both my babies sick.. What a trade off...

is it the Viralys gel? my Pixel hates that stuff - it's maple-flavored
don't know why they do that - she'd do much better w/chicken or fish flavor!
i use a powdered lysine supplement for her most of the time.
