Just got this in an email. If you don't know, Krista was a little tabby kitten who was horribly burned and unfortunately died of her injuries. Krista's Law is to toughen the animal abuse laws across Canada, and was widely supported in the wake of Krista's story. Now that it's been a few months and people have forgotten, well.....

Dear Friend:

Thanks again for signing our online petition in support of "Krista's Law" (Bill C-10B) to update Canada's Criminal Code and provide desperately-needed protection for animal victims of abuse.

In the coming week, the Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs will consider several amendments that would dramatically weaken the law we've all fought so hard to enact.

If our opponents get their way, Krista's Law will be riddled with loopholes and exemptions for special interest groups. We simply can't let this happen. Please take a moment right now to help save Krista's Law ... and win vital protection for animals across Canada.

All you need to do is use the contacts listed below to send a message to your Senator. Your message can be brief and simple. Just demand they pass Bill C-10B without delay and without amendments.

It's a simple message to send, but it could make the difference between life and death for countless animals. Thanks in advance for your support.

By working together we can make a difference!

Sincerely,

Fred O'Regan

President and CEO

PS: Remember ... all we need is one last push for Canada's anti-cruelty law! Please send your message today. Then forward this message and ask your friends to sign Krista' Petition at www.dontbecruel.ca
