I don't think the sore losers comment was directed at the other band members at all. What did the other band members lose?

But nice spin, I will give you that. You should be a politician
So, you dont know what kind of person the drum major is, and you dont know what kind of person the plumber is, but you do know what people that make posts are 'really' thinking.

Thats interesting. A little weird, but interesting

Oh by the way, that post you quoted isnt me

I think someone else changed the subject.

The dude had his "marching orders" so to speak. He didn't follow them, he was suspended, and chose to resign. Whether anyone commented negatively online about it has nothing to do with what he did, that's on him.

Theres been a couple of articles linked here already you could read them and get back to us.

He didnt argue with being suspended, and he didnt resign because he was suspended. He resigned because all the negative comments from people outside his department was causing problems and he didnt want to be a problem.

So, are you really saying that the comment about the "bitter, petty sore losers" is directed towards the other band members? For some reason it just doesn't sound like that, I don't think Yosemite took it that way either.

Is your plumber in a band?
So the other bands are the sore losers that hurt his feelings and made him quit? I honestly don't understand what you are getting at then.

The article you kept quoting from says it was other bands complaining, not his band members. I guess they was upset their drum majors didnt get to wave too

Its simple really. People fixated or fanatical or smitten with something can be really petty, and some people care enough about things or other people to not want to reflect bad on them

I am asking what you mean by what you said in the OP.

Who are the "bitter, petty sore losers" that you mentioned in the OP?

The article didnt say, it just said this

The band has been inundated with phone calls, e-mails and messages on its Internet pages -- almost all of them critical -- since the story first broke on Monday, Rybka said.
Losers as in no life people with nothing better to do than try to hurt somebody. You know, as in 'looooooooser!"

You posted the above, I was wondering who you were talking about when you said, "bitter petty sore losers" who are the sore losers and what did they lose I wonder? Just wondering.

Loser.

edit: oops sorry took out the urban dictionary link the page had all sorts of wirty dords on it.

A word used infrequently by people who live in the real world to identify petty people.

All is well Caleeko, no worries.

Hopefully the Drum Major will reconsider after this stupidity in the press dies down and reconsiders.

The American public's attention span isn't to much longer than a goldfish so it shouldn't be long.

Ooooh...I get it now. All those petty, sore loser bandmembers who only had one desire in life ... to march in that parade, but didn't make the cut. They had to watch from the sidelines and then...OMG...their opportunity for revenge jumped out and smacked 'em right alongside the head! The guy did the unthinkable...

True but we probably wont never know because him going back or the band wanting him back wont be news worthy enough for us to ever hear

That could very well be the case Losers make bigger deals of lesser things.

I just think it's hysterical that anyone would care.

Hey BO...it's me...

Military protocol was in place, the drum major was informed of the protocol, and he didn't follow it. I don't see a debate here; he made a mistake and should accept the consequences.

He had accepted the consequences, a 6 month suspension. But apparently that just wasnt enough for some people.

I don't get why you keep saying that. He quit on his own accord, no one made him.

FYI: the comments were made on the band's Myspace page, which mysteriously has been cancelled. Apparently he took the comments on there as personal? Seriously, you put yourself out there in the public, you have to deal with the loonies that make comments.

Why do you insist on blaming others for this guy quitting of his own accord?

Not one of the people that resigned their jobs during the Proposition 8 protests were made to do so either. It was on them, yet some seemed to feel that they were "badgered" into quitting

This appears to be almost the same thing to me

No one could badger me into quitting a job.

Yes, unfortunately there are some nasty folks that can make one's life so miserable that it is just best to quit and leave them behind. Unless one has an extremely hard shell or really just doesn't give a darn what others think or feel, it would be tough to deal with the badgering every day so I can totally understand the resignation. IMO, it's just better to get away from people that enjoy making your life miserable.
I do have a pretty hard shell, no impenetrable but durable and I don't much care what most people think and there is no way that anonymous people emailing and blogging would hurt my feelings.
