As most of you know, I am going to be moving from Dallas to Los Angeles in the next few weeks. I am planning to get my kitties ready with a vet visit before we go, and was wondering about vaccines...
Both of them are current on the Rabis shots and on the 4x1 shot. My question is: I am going to be crossing several states on my way - do I need to worry about all of those states vaccine regulations, or only California and Texas? Also, do they ask for vaccine records in hotels?
How long before the trip should I get them vaccinated, if I need it? Bugsy is still a little under the weather with lose stools (getting better), and a skin injury due to an allergy to Profender (topical dewormer). I don't want it to be too much for him, and have a problem on the road...
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

You will need a health certificate ... I would suggest calling or emailing your destination city or county for what the health certificate needs to have on it

Sharky: do I only need it for LA, or for the counties I will spend the night as well?
Thanks!

If they are current on their vaccinations you shouldn't have to get any more before you move. I would think the health certificate showing that should be adequate for the states in between.

What route are you taking?

287 to 40 to 15 to the 210... Will cross Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, nevada and California... It will be quite the trip. I did great when I moved in, but I had not kitties at the time...
