She's home, there was no hissing, although she took a swipe at my eye with her claws out through the carrier when we were still at the vets.
I guess I deserve it, leaving her there like I did.
She is literally feeling NO pain - he gave her painkiller, and gave me some to give her orally once a day for three days. Meta...something. Don't think I will unless it looks like she really needs it, because I think it might be better for her to actually BE in a little pain.
The reason is, as soon as she got out of the carrier she went straight for a trip to the litterbox, took a poop, got a drink of water, then went for a run in the cat wheel - literally, a RUN - then started chasing Max and Penny in a game of tag.
So much for keeping her calm!
But she's home and is doing well, no need for an e-collar, as her sutures are steel, so she can't break them. She goes back in two weeks to get her sutures out.
Thanks very much for all the vibes, I appreciate it.
All the staff at the vets office loved her and played with her every chance they got, they said, and called her the sweetest they've ever seen! I have to agree, because I happen to think she's pretty darned special.
