Hi guys,

I've just got back from dropping my two 8 month old male cats off to be neatured
- It was so hard to leave them there but I know it has to be done!

Cant stop thinking about them, just waiting for that call to say its all over and that I can go and get them.

The vet didnt say anything or ask why I had left it so late to get them neutured, I was expecting to be told off!

My main worry is that their personalities will change. They are perfect and I dont want them to change a thing. I only decided to get them done as they were being very fiesty with one another. Play fighting that would turn into crashing and banging around the place and also my girlfriend said that she saw one try to hump the other! So that was when we knew it was time lol.

I just want my boys back!!!
- Whilst I type this I have my kitten Harvey sitting on my legs, so at least he's here to keep me company. He's too young at the moment to get done but fear not, his time will come!

Awww I know you concerned but you are really doing them a favour!

And yes their personalities may change - in my experience I have found they get more sweet and loving after they have been neutered!

I agree...they get better after being neutered...I have to take my girl Molly in tomorrow to get spayed.....so I know how you feel....But I found with males they are fine the next day...females take longer to recover...

Awww, that's how I was when my Ricky Bobby got neutered. I hated leaving him there. He had a very fast recovery though, within a day and a half he was close to his old self. He was very clingy when he first got home, he was still heavily medicated and would not leave my side.

His personality dodn't change too much, he's still a hyper little thing, very active and acting just like a lil boy! He did get a tad bit more affectionate though
. Other than that he's the same cat.

Actually, you would see more personality change if you DIDN'T get them neutered than you will when you do.

Once those hormones kick in, you become as important to a male cat as a dad to a 15-year-old boy.

I brought them home yesterday at 2pm and they were fine! It was as if nothing had happened. I was quite surprised really.

This morning they were charging around the house together as normal so all is well

Both of them are very loving cats as it is, so if they are going to get even more loving... Im happy with that

The males recover real fast, its as if nothing happened! I'm glad your boys' surgeries went without a hitch... and I'm also glad for you that apparently, they hadn't started spraying your house before you had the neutering done!

Yep they didnt spray once (that I know of)... I mean from what I hear from other cat people on this forum the smell is awful. So I'm sure I would have noticed if they did it.

Yeah, it's a bad smell, at least to humans.

Take a bottle of ammonia. Pour it on your carpet. Add a bottle of vinegar. Then a bottle of olive oil, to make it hard to clean up. Let it sit for a day or two. Now you've got some idea of the smell!
