Poor thing came home with tapeworms, and no teeth... I got him treated for tapeworms with Profender, which not only gave him Diarrhea, but also a skin reaction that made him scratch it raw (profender is a topical dewormer)!
I was cleaning up with bactine 2x/day, but today I got scared of it, and decided to start treating with Neosporin to prevent infection... It is clean, and doesn't look infected, but...
Poor thing... I feel so bad for my little guy...
I also have Tresaderm at home, I just thought it might be too strong... Any recommendations? I will not take him to the vet for this... I can call, but will not traumatize him any further...

Does your area have any at-home veterinarians? I had never heard of this until I found out my mother-in-law uses one. I plan on checking into this myself because my Turtle is so stressed by vet office visits. Don't know how much more expensive it is, though.

I called the vet, who told me to use tresaderm instead of Neosporin, as it helps the skin to breath, preventing infection... She said neosporin is ok, but the problem is that because of the fur we have a tendency to apply it too thick, blocking moisture in the skin. I have tresaderm at home, so that's the one I will be using.
If he gets worse, to the vet we go...
