Why does she always pick the clean clothes?

Keller always seeks out the clean clothes to sleep on. I left my folding for a minute and when I came back...

She doesn't care for dirty clothes You would think they smell more like us.

Cute! If those clothes just came out of the dryer, then there's your answer...they love the warmth!

My cats like to lie down on clothes, period, warm or not, clean or not. In fact, one of them really seems to like dirty clothes - he will roll all over them, and he looks very happy doing it!

My cat Ben sits on clean clothes a lot. Maybe they like the fact its a clean, soft place to chill out?

Actually, I think all my cats have been like that -- very willing to sleep on clean clothes (not just fresh out of the dryer), but never dirty. I generally think it is because of their exacting preferences, but I hope that isn't a commentary on me!

Maybe that's exactly why she does it. She takes it upon herself to make your clothes smell like Keller, that's way better than fabric softener I suppose.
She is a really pretty cat, BTW.

Seriously, because a cat has a better sense of smell than us it might be more important for them that something smells like them (or the general smell of your household). It is not for nothing that cat therapists recommend feliway/cattitude diffusers to make cats feel more at ease, or to spread cloths the cats have slept on through the house to spread their own scent.
Maybe Keller even likes it that there no one has put his/her scent on the clothes yet.
We always thought Mimosa just didn't like sleeping in cat beds, but discovered last year that she hates it when a bed has another cat's scent on it. She will use a bed after it came from the washing machine, and will continue to use it if no one else uses it. She won't use it after Ernesto or Flynn has slept in it. dEUS can sleep in a bed couple times before Mimosa starts to avoid it.
