Ophelia's back to her old antics. Attacking people, cats, dogs.....she's on her highest dose of Buspar.

My vet is gone until Thursday, I can call the other 2 vets, but one is utterly stupid & the other doesn't believe in "drugs", but she can help me re-home her.
I can see the people jumping for a flighty white cat that will attack them, their family, & their other pets.

Time for a chill out session in my bedroom with the feliway (not that it helps much, but it's the thought that counts, right?).

Doing the right thing sucks sometimes, as if I hadn't - I wouldn't be stuck with her. She looks so innocent.... (not
)

I regret having taken her, but she is a nice cat, she's just challenged in her manner of expressing it. If I could make her a happy bubble, to be by herself, just one person, no other animals, & that mangled mousie she loves, I would.

Yeah, doing the right thing IS DEFINITELY hard. But you did a good thing - I mean, could you really re-home "O" if you found the right environment?

I`m sorry, I can`t take her scary face seriously when I know what that bed looks like! ( Cute! )

Do you think it`s like humans were by sometimes you can be on a drug and after a while the effects just wear off? Is there a similar drug she could switch to?

It would be such a shame for her to go downhill

Or maybe she's been on the drug so long that it has whacked her out? Muddy got really strange on his anti-anxiety medication - actually got jumpy after a while and I had to take him off of that one.

I wondered about the effect of the Buspar - but she's been on it for 6+ months straight before without issue.
She was off it for several months, too. Lowering her dose to 1 pill a day, keeping her shut somewhere (she's in my bedroom right now, but I can't get in without being killed ATM - so must somehow get her moved so I can sleep!), and Thurs we'll talk to the vet. He doesn't want to try Prozac ( can't remember why) & Amitrityline had ZERO effect on her nasti-ness.

If you find out why he doesn't want to try Prozac, please let me know. That's what my vet suggested for Daisy's behavior - when I called him crying hysterically after the "Big Attack"...first on me and then on Speck when he came to my rescue. (Poor tame, sweet Speck...he always gets the worst of it.)

When I had Zane on Prozac, the label said that side effects might be lethargy and somnolence.

How can you tell with a cat?
