There's a local restaurant store in my town. No glitz or glammer about their products, but they are of comparable quality for 1/3 the price (compared to this site). No display shelves - their stock is on warehouse type shelves. They are only open Monday thru Friday 9-5 and they don't bother with a website. I went up there to buy my DH a beer pitcher for Christmas and they told me they only sell the glass ones by the case. That's the drawback for some of their items. But I've gotten huge stainless steel stockpots for under $100, stainless steel cookie sheets for under $10, and I did get a plastic beer pitcher for $5. And the stuff will last forever (well, maybe not the beer pitcher).

I would never had found this store cause I had no idea of where to look. My chef friend in Denver actually found it for me (she knows where to look). These types of stores will be in buildings that look like warehouse fronts. But if you do some digging and find one in your area, its definitely worth the trip if you love kitchen gadgets. The name of my local store is Spatula Central.

There is a restaurant supply store here in town, but I've never been in there. It says it is open to the public, so maybe I'll stop in some time (if I can remember where it is at. lol)

We have a bunch of these commercial food storage containers in our pantry. http://www.containerstore.com/browse...4&PRODID=60181 We keep our baking stuff like flour, sugar, chocolate chips, etc in one, boxed and bagged pasta in one, things like bulk oatmeal, lentils, rice, etc in another...and on and on.

I LOVE kitchen gadgets, but I don't own any. I don't even have a decent set of knives. I think the can opener is my best gadget and it is just a hand held one
. I do have a favorite gadget, my Moms Margaritaville. It makes the BEST Margaritas and it is so much eaiser to use then a blender. Put ice in the top, add the mix and the tequila. Then puch the lever up then push it down and pour! Sooo yummy! I want one

From having only a kettle, toaster and slow cooker 1 week ago - I now have a deep fat frier (yuk), breadmaker, sandwich maker, George Foreman Grill, blender, electric can opener, 2 different coffee makers, 2 juicers, an electric carving knife (with several lethal looking blades) and a swishy looking gadget that I'm yet to discover what it's for...

Thanks to my late mother in law (she passed in December) - we've just moved into her house as it was the day she went into the hospital!

Anyone want some gadgets??

Those scissors are seriously cool! I really don't use fresh herbs either (nobody could ever accuse me of being a chef), so they wouldn't get much use here, and would probably be conscripted into my craft supplies.

I want a KitchenAid mixer though...the Green Apple color would match my kitchen perfectly!
All I have is a rickety old hand mixer that can't even take the punishment of finishing a cookie dough. It gets stuck, starts whining, and then I smell a whiff of burning wires. Then I have to finish it by hand. Wimp!

Wow, I like those. Everybody loves to invite me to a Pampered Chef party because I love gadgets so much. I especially like the hand chopper (though I not sure that's what it's called...I make it sound like it chops hands!) The meat masher is also great. Darn, that doesn't sound right either...

It's actually a Food Chopper, and I think the meat masher you're referring to is really just a meat tenderizer.

I sold Pampered Chef products a couple years ago...it didn't work out...lol

I look forward to the holidays every year cuse that means new kitchen gadgets for me. My family finaly found out what I really like so no more ugly sweaters for me now it's all kinds of kitchen goodies and spices. So far my favs have been this wine topper with a slide bar on it that closes it when your done pouring and my new professinal pots and pans. I was soo excited to see them under the tree from my parents. Now if only a kitchenaid mixer would find it's way under there.

I like the look of those scissors but I'll probably keeping using a sharp knife for chopping.

My favorite gadgets are my Kitchen Aid stand mixer, bread machine and food processor.

I love creme brulee. I thought of learning to make it so I could have an excuse to buy the torch.

Because of our restaurants, I have been lucky enough to know about 3 of the restaurant supply stores, in my area. OMG do I ever love it! The quality of the things are just fantastic!

is it a special kind? 'cause on tv, it just looks like they're using a butane torch [you know, like this].

Is it one of those aerogardens? http://www.growyearround.com/

Is it worth the price? I saw it advertised here and would love to have one to grow herbs!
