So, I'm chewing a piece of spearmint gum, and I'm holding the cat, and she gets mad.

Yep, Catnip is in the mint family. Some cats go crazy over other items with mint such as Aritstotle and BenGay liniment.
Zane is totally indifferent to catnip.
I have some mint scented soap that I took out to give to my son to use, and Nora went NUTS! She was clawing at the bag and everything trying to get at the mint scent. lol

Oh my gosh I was just chewing spearmint gum too, and Jake came up to me and started sniffing my lips trying to figure out what that smell is...It was quite funny because he wouldn't leave he just kept sniffing!!
I'm going to have to try this. Speck turns into a lion after a whiff of catnip.
