of all of the many places i've visited [i was a travel agent for 15 years, plus my father was an airline pilot, so i've been LOTS of places!] 3 are my favorites, for various reasons.
San Francisco - pretty, liked the climate - but don't care for the earthquakes!
Hawaii - beautiful, wonderful climate.
London/Great Britain - again, wonderful old buildings & scenery, loved the weather [probably was extra-warm at the time, tho!]

I'm pretty happy where I am (SF Bay Area), and it's where I grew up and where I want to spend the best years of my career. But if I had to choose another spot...

Lake Tahoe and/or the surrounding areas (only in retirement, can't support myself there doing what I do)

The Santa Cruz Mountains (again, only in retirement, too remote for my work).

Dublin (Ireland, not California!)

München (Munich)

Wien (Vienna)

Since I'm a musician, European capitals hold a special appeal

In the US, San Francisco.

Outside of the US, Cairo, if the pollution didn't aggravate my asthma too badly. I'm not a big fan of sneezing black snot

Or Sharjah, one of the lesser known, less Las Vegas-y emirates of the UAE.

Am I the only one that HATES the UK and Scotland?? I visited there when I was 18 with my sister, mom, and grandmother and by the end of the two weeks I was crying to go home (literally). There is no way I could ever live there. We got stuck in the Atlanta airport on our way back and I just sat on our luggage and cried in the middle of the airport.
It is just too gloomy and depressing there.

The city I live in is a good place to raise a family, but that's about it. I hate it here. We're moving to Fort Worth, TX, and it can't come soon enough. We have a meeting this week about putting our house on the market. WOOHOO!! Hopefully we can work it out so we don't have to wait for our house to sell before we move. If we do, we'll be here forever.

I just want to live somewhere warm. I love Dallas, San Antonio, Myrtle Beach, Florida, and Colorado (I know, that's the opposite of warm, but my aunt and uncle live there and I love it).

I would LOVE to live in St Martin. We spent Christmas Day there a few years ago and it was beautiful!! What wouldn't you love about sitting on a white sand beach on Christmas Day, clear blue skies, and 85 degrees?? Perfection. Plus, the island is just too cute.

I would either move:
1. Back to New Jersey. I miss it so much. You can never take the Jersey out of the girl

2. Skaneateles, New York. So beautiful, and so many wonderful memories.
3. St. Thomas, USVI. Living in a paradise.

In the US, it would definately be Portland, OR. A part of me died when I had to leave...

Here in Europe, I'm really liking Prague and learning about it's history. I think I could live here the rest of my life, but I probably won't.

If I could live anywhere here, right now, I'd pick Croatia, I think. On the beach or near it.
