2009 Kitten Count

I don't post much but I always check this forum to see kitten pictures. Well, I really missed the kitten count last year since it stopped about half way through, so I thought I'd start and run one for this year to keep track of all the TCS kittens born in 2009! Here we go!

Unnamed Cat (momof3furbabies) 1/17 - 2 kittens
Scratchy (KP22) 1/23 - 3 kittens

Last Count: 5 kittens
(and no photos yet!)

I haven't got a clue how this thing works because I'm a newbie here, but my kitty (his name is Kuura) became a father 1/19, 5 kittens. I posted a picture in this topic: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=185520

I don't think the count includes pedigree kittens from planned breedings.

I don't remember seeing anything about a kitten count when I joined at the end of July last year. My babies would have added to the 2008 count. Everybody's been fixed now, so no more kittens unless I foster.

Here's the 2008 count, it mysteriously ended in the beginning of July, so we missed out on half a year of kittens!

I don't know if previous editions of the count included planned litters or not, but I don't see why not? However, the honor usually goes to the mother and not the father. Do you know the name of Kuura's kittens' mother?

Friends and family call her Kihy.

Add 5 more. Sugar just gave us 5. I guess now is the race to post pics first!

The previous thread was done for unplanned litters and was done to illustrate the importance of spaying and neutering. Here is quote from the thread:

They are very gorgeous!

we are down to one kitten from Sugar, she smothered 4 of them over the course of a week. Her sister Taffy surprised us with two this week though, It's been a rough week for all of us.

I'm sorry you lost so many kittens. =( What day did Taffy have hers, I'll add her to the list?

Taffy had hers on Saturday the 21st, and they already look much better than Sugar's kittens did, Taffy is a much better mother so we have Sugar and her last kitten in with Taffy and she is helping Sugar to take care of the one left.

My foster kitty had 4 kittens on Feb 11th, 3 boys and 1 girl. All doing well

Angel, Smokey, Luna, and Lola...cats
Phoniex and Boomer...ferrets
Linus...bunny

and my foster kitties...

Pancake just had 4 between 11:30 and 12:45. I'm guessing 2 were born on the 24th & 2 on the 25th. She gave birth to the first one in the middle of the living room!!! Then moved it to a spot in the corner of the room behind a chair where she had the other three. It's not the ideal spot but I don't dare move her or them right now. here's a pic of Panny with the kittens. It's not the best pic but you can see all 4 of them. 3 gray tabbies and an orange tabby (look just above the grays by her back leg and you'll see him).
