Yes that is right. Since before I got up this morning actually. I woke up in the middle of the night last night and it took a few hours before I got back to sleep, so I slept till near noon today.

When I got up DH was on the couch playing Paper Mario and he's barely stopped to eat even today. He had half the day off yesterday and he played most of that too!!

Now some of you may be used to this type of thing from your SO. But I'm sure not! I'm sooo bored of hearing the music and the sound effects! I keep thinking if I let him play long enough he's going to beat the game soon and then maybe I can get a turn??
He's on the last level now and has been for a couple hours I think; so I'm sure hoping this is about it! Noodles has been looking annoyed with him too. She's been wanting his attention!

Easy solution "oops, a breaker flipped".

I've been less subtle in the past and walked right over and turned a game system off.

He totally owes you for letting him monopolize it all day!
Maybe tomorrow you can play, and he can do laundry or something!

I am the same way! I wouldn't have thought twice about going over and turning it off! Well that depends on if I needed him to do something or not.

Paper Mario IS alot of fun though. I like how you can turn the camara and see things from the side to find seceret doors. 12hrs does seam like alittle much! I think I would loose my mind if I had to listen to the music for that long.

Except I've been doing the laundry all day today.
Partly because we were out of towels and then I was on a roll. He does owe me big time. At least all the laundry I've bothered to fold so far is stacked on his side of the bed! He can put that up!

Or he will stay up the rest of the night and take a nap on the couch sometime around 5-6 am.

It's like with kids, don't threaten to do something unless you're going to follow through.

O-H-I-O!
I really don't mind Travis playing video games. He plays Halo 3 every night with his friends online on Xbox 360. I would NEVER walk up to his game to shut it off. I feel that is unwarrented and disrespectful....I feel he's a grown man. He would never shut my TV show off on me in the middle of watching it so I would never do that in return.

On the other hand, video games ARE a lot of fun and I hope your hubby gives you a turn soon! I LOVE my Wii! Tell him to share!
Tell him since you did all the laundry, you get to play the Wii AND he has to put the clothes away

Dh played till about 2 and then we both went to bed. We had church today and then he had Royal Rangers (like Boy scouts, but with Christian teaching) so he didn't get a chance to go back to it till after that. He muted it while I took a nap on the couch and finally beat the game. Now he's on trash/litterbox duty and he's tossing some leftovers too. (Good man!!)

Maybe now that he's beat the game I'll get some attention again! Either that or when we go grocery shop at Walmart in a little bit I'll find him back in the game section looking for something new to play!

In my case it was upset DH for a few minutes or completely disappoint his grandmother and family who we had agreed to meet with for dinner. He can get over stuff, but you don't disappoint grandmothers - you never know when you'll lose them...

He has also had problems with game addiction in the past - this includes the behaviors you typically see in people who have addictions.

So in my case, there's more to it than my husband just enjoying a little game play. Hopefully circumstances are not as extreme for others on here.

I'm glad the OP's husband at least muted the game (mine doesn't seem to know what this or the volume buttons are for) while she was sleeping and helped out around the house today. Mine wouldn't have done that unless forced, he'd just keep playing.

I just look at it this way: as long as they're playing their games, they're leaving US alone!

My son used to drive me nuts while he was growing up playing his Nintendo 24/7. I had to set some rules before I'd let him get on the thing, or he never would have gotten anything accomplished. He's now a grown man, but still plays with video games.

We all have our "addictions".
Theirs seems to be video games - ours is TCS.

He's tried that before...but that's when the real nagging would begin!
Actually he usually puts away most of what was there for the simple reason that I can't reach the shelf those things go on. I need a stool to get things up there neatly and there isn't much room to get the stool in there either. It's just simpler if he does it!

Well if it means anything, Super Paper Mario is very quick to beat.

I was wondering if he beat Paper Mario? Did you get a turn at the Wii yet?

He beat it while I napped yesterday. I just played for a while tonight. Too tired to play too long though!
