Frodo, one of our young boys won't stop sucking on the dog, he kneads and sucks on him like he's nursing. We've had him since he was 9 weeks old and he's been around the dog from day one. We just aren't sure if the sucking should be stopped or not. Mostly Bear puts up with it, but sometimes even he grumbles at the cat for it. Any advise?

It sounds like he was never fully weaned from his mom for whatever reason. It wouldn't hurt to stop it from a mental health perspective. Adult kitties shouldn't suckle! Mom kitties hiss and swat at kittens when it's past time for them to stop nursing. You could do something similar by taking two fingers and tapping Frodo on the head. Not hitting of course. It's a touch really but it will make sense to him since that's how cats communicate. If you don't feel too silly though a hiss in too. You'd be surprised at how that can help!

My Sphynx kitten "nurses" on my Chinese Cresteds dogs
I discourage it when I see her doing it although the dogs don't seem to mind at all!
We had an outside adult cat that liked to nurse on our Great Pyrenees and she would start producing milk
very weird! The cat was white and so is the Pyr so you had to look close to see the cat!
