Here is a picture of Charlie and Jack at about the same age for comparison. Charlie is 4 months old, Jack is 3 months old. You can see the difference between them and why Jack is better.

Notice especially the ear sets.

I Love both.... I don't understand showing, so I am not sure why one would be better than the other - Both are gorgeous to me!

Wellington - standard is gold or green or hazel. But not blue. Coat and eye color do not have to match.

Basic comparison.

Charlie has nice spots, but has a little too much stripes where he shouldn't have them. Ear set is ok now, but should be a little further apart. I have a few other pics that really show the close ear set at that age which is not good. Charlie has an excellent muzzle, nice and strong and excellent contrast of body color and spot color.

Jack has excellent contrast of body color and spot color. His ear set at this age is excellent and will get better even tho he will be neutered at 4 1/2 months old. His spotting is a lot better - very few stripes from the pictures she's sent. His fault is maybe not quite as good of a muzzle (will have to see when he gets here) and his ears are a bit shorter then Charlie's in height - but better balance with the head.

His eyes look perfect to me!

I've got a thing for ginger (I know, I know it's a naughty word
) cats!

What's the exact colour that you call him? Please excuse my ignorance but I need to learn! I'm having a photo session with Burmilla's on Tuesday - do you get those in the US?

Charlie is chocolate spotted
Jack is cinnamon spotted.

Will pm you the breeder's website so you can see the other colors.

Jacks muzzle could fill out, it can also be the angle or the white milk spot causing an optical illusion.

Thank you for posting these comparisons. I think both boys are beautiful! I pulled up both photos side by side on my monitor and could see the differences in ear set, muzzles and spotting. However, I know nothing about which is closer to the standard. Thank you for explaining.

Amanda - I think so too - the one email that Anne sent said he does have a strong muzzle - I think its the angle of the picture. When I get him, you know I'll be taking a TON of pictures

Jack definitely has better ear placement. I also noticed his eyes are more prominent. Charlie has the better muzzle, better contrast to his coat, but that could be because he was a month older.

Thanks everyone for the nice compliments. Got an update from the breeder. Jack's two brothers are now gone (one last weekend, one this weekend) - so it will only be Jack, his sister, and his mom hanging out together. Jack will go to his 1st show on Feb. 21 just to test the waters
