If your cell phone fell in the toilet, what would you do?

I've never done this to a phone, but I would fish it out- very carefully

I did lose a pager to this though, it popped off my pocket and landed in the toliet right as I flushed- and it went buh-bye!

I did wash a phone in the washing machine- it was a goner

One time that I did a phone sopping wet and it lived to tell the tale was I was canoeing and my phone was in my pocket and we got dumped in the river, i took me a couple minutes to remember it was in my pocket! but it was okay

I'd just reach down and fish it out. I've had to do nastier jobs in my life, no big deal. Plus, I'd know that if I didn't fish it out it would more than likely clog the drain and the some poor sap would have to come behind me and clean up the mess.

Me, too!
It was DH's phone, too!
Luckily, he was the one that left his phone in his pockets, so I wasn't totally to blame... But now I ALWAYS check the pockets of every pair of pants (his and mine!) so that won't happen again.

I have never dropped a phone in the toilet, but I would fish it out (regardless of what was in the toilet, yuck!). I didn't know about the trick with the rice, but now that I do know that, I would try it! If not, I'd cash in on the insurance.

I have a friend who did that twice in just a couple weeks time!! She got it to work after the first time; but the second time it said no more!!

I think I'd fish it out under most circumstances. Then it would get sanitized as many times as possible!!!!

If it were at home, and it was "before", then I'd fish it out and try to save it. If it were "after", I'd figure some way to get it out, and toss it.

If it were a public toilet, I'd walk away, regardless. I might borrow someone's phone and try calling it just to see what would happen though!
I think that is what I would do.

This happened to Aaron with his work pager. He fished it out and then brought it in and asked for a new one since it didn't work anymore.

Jump with joy--I finally would have an excuse to rid myself of the annoying, expensive thing that I basically use as an expensive wrist-watch!
I hardly use it, but have to pay the bill. DH runs over the minutes, so when I DO use it, it often goes over, but I make him pay me for those.

DH has dropped his in toilets a few times. He plays games on it, hence the falling in.

I do not understand people's need to be talking on the phone while on the toilet! This just would not happen to me, ever! I don't answer the phone if it's inconvenient to do so and I wouldn't call from there.
If I did drop my cell in through some bizarre mishap, then yep, I'd fish it out and dry it off best as I could. My current phone has been dropped and left in a snow bank for three days and still works fine, so I wouldn't give up on it.

My fiance did that once.

If I dropped mine in the toilet, I'd have to try to save it because I can't afford another one. Most cell phone companies will not replace your phone if its broken due to water damage. My fiance tells me peoples stories sometimes about how their phone mysteriously stopped working and he looks at it and says they can't fix it because its got water damage.
Some people have some weird stories about how their phone got wet.
