I live in Ontario,Canada....and its just about time I get my 5 cats a nice tree for all of them to enjoy....Since getting the new kitten..I've bought tones of toys...I have a smaller kitty condo...but the new kitten is very active and I just need something else to keep her busy....Here my problem....I can't find one in my area....I did find 2 at a store...and the price was reasonable...but there was 2 small holes...kinda like a short tunnel...I wouldn't guess them being more than 5/6 inches round...I dunno if my lets say "fatter" cat...(although she eats the same amount as all the others..weights a bit more than the others)....will fit..what if she got stuck....I really liked the tree other than that...Does anyone from Ontario here know of a place possible with free shipping ...or at least reasonable shipping..that I can get them a half decent one.....I wish I had the room to build one....or even find someone here to build one....not sure where I would find such a person...

I, like you, have struggled to find a decent cat tree in Ontario.

I know Armarkat's Canadian site has some, and their prices aren't too bad after factoring in shipping. Not great though.

I got a cat tree that is about 4 feet tall (and 4 feet wide) from Pet Valu when I first got the kittens. It is actually quite decent (a couple ladders, a couple "houses" with holes, lots of sisal, and a platform on top...and fairly sturdy. They still have them, BUT, I'm finding it's not tall enough anymore. My Pet Valu does occasionally get other, taller trees in, but the one I looked at wasn't as strudy as I would have liked. I know they have them at Petsmart too, but I can't find anything much taller than what I already have! If you have any local pet stores, it might be worth asking if they have any suppliers that you could order a tree from.

If you check out kijiji (www.kijiji.ca), there are sometimes who post on their offering to build cat trees/condos. I think it'll cost you about as much as Armarkat though.

Good luck...let me know if you come up with anything good!

I'm in Boston MA and have been trying to find a good one for a decent price. I'm sure they're around but I'm not sure what a good price is for one. I just have one kitten; is there any advice on where to get one? Thanks. Sorry if I hijacked the thread...

I'm not sure if Amazon.com has a canadian site...but I ordered my cat tree off of there (and got free shipping to boot!) Here's the tree I purchased: http://www.amazon.com/Molly-Friends-...2823468&sr=1-1

The tree came pre-assembled and is super sturdy. I have three cats (one of whom is 15.5lbs) and two out of the three are very active (chase each other and jump onto the tree at high speed) and it is holding up well so far.

I wouldn't hesistate to reccommend the brand, I'm just not sure if they ship to canada and/or if Amazon does have a canadian site, if they carry on there.

I wanted to go with this model: http://www.amazon.com/Molly-Friends-...2823468&sr=1-4 but it was out of stock at the time I purchased mine (a little before christmas).

HTH,

I was just at pet valu...they only had one small one....and I don't have a petsmart near me....and amazon here in Canada only has books/cd/dvd's that kinda thing...Maybe I should have just bought the one with the smaller tunnels....I bet if I go back to that store they will be gone...

I made one and although I continue to improve on it I've only put about $50 into it. Jack loves it and just recently Harley has started to play on it.

I'm a 23 year old female and did all the work myself on the tree.

Is it possible that the one who saw that you liked could be assembled without the tunnel? I've left parts off of trees that I didn't like before. Sometimes it can be done.

Mine is actually not covered in carpet--I don't like the look which is one big reason I opted against buying.

I'll try and post recent pictures tonight or tomorrow. Like I said its a continuous project, as I see things the boys like and dislike.

I have used the staple gun and the staples you hammer in for everything I've attached to it.
