My Balki is sneezing again and seems to have mild conjunctivitis. Earlier in April when I got him, he was diagnosed w/ a URI and was put on amoxicillin for 10 days, which was completed in full, and chlopheniramine as needed. Vet is closed on Sundays, can't ask this question until tommorrow. My problem is Balki is a fast growing kitten at 12 wks old now and has gained 1 full pound since the orginal 1/4 tab BID was prescribed to him 1 month ago. I gave him a 1/4 just now, but was thinking that this may not be enough for him? I know this question may not be able to be answered, but I figured I would try and ask anyway.

Thanks!

I would definitely wait until you hear from your Vet. I'd hate to see you give the wrong dose to a kitty! It might hurt him more than help him! Is there any way you could call your Vet at home? What about a ER clinic? You might be able to call them to see how much you should give.
Once again, I'd definitely ask before you give him any more meds. Hope your little guy starts feeling better soon!

I did call the emergency clinic, but they were unwilling to help me, saying they couldn't give recommendations on medication that they didn't prescribe. Understood, but it's just an antihistimine. But whatever, I'll just give the 1/4 tab until I consult with someone. I don't want to call the vet at home since she is also mother, and of course today is mother's day!

Anyhow, he really isn't that bad, just a little under the weather. Hopefully I won't have to mess with antibiotics again, what a pain in the rear! I have to wonder since he just recently completed a 10 day antibiotic treatment, if it is really necessary again, since it is probably just a viral infection, & I don't want to build resistance.
