Surprising news on Aussies

According to a cleric from Australia, Aussies are boozers hooked on gambling and prostitution. Who knew?

At least he's just saying that the Aussies need saving, not that they should be killed for their wicked ways. Guess they aren't quite as evil as Americans yet.

He has delivered contradictory lectures, at times telling his followers they should be grateful to live in Australia because it had a fair system of justice, welfare safety nets and the rights for individuals to express their views.
You've got to wonder whether this guy just likes to see his name in the newspapers.

The Islamic clerics have always been controversial in Australia. They like to tell their followers that Australians are evil and immoral, despite the fact that they're choosing to live in a Western culture rather than an Islamic one. Hmmm... I wonder why they choose to live in Australia?

The top Muslim Cleric Sheikh el-Hilali made major waves a few years back after a big gang raping had taken place, and those responsible got given HUGE sentences. He said:

Quote:
"If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside... and the cats come and eat it... whose fault is it, the cats' or the uncovered meat?" Sheikh Hilali is quoted as asking during the sermon.

The uncovered meat is the problem, he went on to say.

"If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab [headscarf], no problem would have occurred," he added.
He then went on to apologise, saying he didn't mean to offend anyone - what a fool. He followed it up with:

Quote:
"Women in our Australian society have the freedom and the right to dress as they choose," he added.
He was suspended for 3 months for those comments. Even most Muslims found it highly offensive. They try very hard to be controversial I think.

But lets face it. Australians are boozers - it's what makes us fun

If that were to happen today, there would be a dozen savvy bloggers posting "Prominent Cleric says young Muslim men are animals!"

And like to share. When I was stationed on Okinawa, we took a trip to Melbourne. There were 4 of us on the beach, and about 200 yards away was a big group of Aussies. All of a sudden, they pulled up their volleyball nets, picked up the coolers, and came down to set up around us and offer everyone a beer.

Nice folks

FYI: Aussie beer is some gooooood stuff

I've always thought that Aussies were a nice, easygoing bunch. Beer always helps with the easygoing part - I have firsthand knowledge of that part

Mmmm and meat pies. And GOOD steak! And amazing seafood. And the chocolate is better. Oh and the standard loaf of bread is soooo much nicer than American bread. I miss Aussie food

What is that wonderful chocolate biscuit called??? I'm having a brain cramp and can't remember.

It's not "Nick Nak" but it's something similar, I think.
