The Islamic clerics have always been controversial in Australia. They like to tell their followers that Australians are evil and immoral, despite the fact that they're choosing to live in a Western culture rather than an Islamic one. Hmmm... I wonder why they choose to live in Australia?
The top Muslim Cleric Sheikh el-Hilali made major waves a few years back after a big gang raping had taken place, and those responsible got given HUGE sentences. He said:
Quote:
"If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside... and the cats come and eat it... whose fault is it, the cats' or the uncovered meat?" Sheikh Hilali is quoted as asking during the sermon.
The uncovered meat is the problem, he went on to say.
"If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab [headscarf], no problem would have occurred," he added. |
He then went on to apologise, saying he didn't mean to offend anyone - what a fool. He followed it up with:
Quote:
| "Women in our Australian society have the freedom and the right to dress as they choose," he added. |
He was suspended for 3 months for those comments. Even most Muslims found it highly offensive. They try very hard to be controversial I think.
But lets face it. Australians are boozers - it's what makes us fun
