I joined Facebook about 4 days ago. Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m not a big fan of these types of things since Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve always been the type who knew everyone….as acquaintances, but really only developed deep relationships with very few people in my lifetime. Being as I live so far away from home now I have not spoken to these friends in over a year. I am hopeing Facebook changes that.

I had a great childhood and a crazy, fun teenhood. Joining Facebook made me feel old! Seeing all my old friends, all of them shock at how quiet my life is now, talking about old times, how much fun we had. Its just weird LOL. Maybe its just my PMS talking (sorry boys lol) but its making me a little sad. I wouldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t say depressed just thoughtful in a down kind of way.

Has anyone else felt this way after talking to old friends?

Yup. I feel the same, but it is great to reconnect with people from your younger years
I found people I haven't talked to in 10+ yrs.

I connected with my best friends from elementary school on Facebook, and we got together for drinks and laughed about old memories. I also met up for lunch with a high school friend and discovered we have much more in common now than we did then! I've had a great time reconnecting with old friends on Facebook, and finding out what's been happening in the lives of everyone since graduating from high school.

I love facebook. It is like the grown-up my space. I use it to keep up with some old friends and I have a ton a family memeber on there. With my family being so wide spread over the country it is really nice to have alot of them in one place.

I HATE Facebook...but I do have one and have re-connected with old friends.I haven't felt depressed over it though,it has actually been interesting seeing how much we have changed and whatnot.

My old best friend,Sarah and I lost contact after high skool and recently got back in touch via FB.We have like NOTHING in common now,at all.Except we both have kids!
So it has been interesting.

I have and account, but I think I use it wrong.

I moved around alot as a kid so I really don't have any close childhood friends that I want t look up or contact - I actually didn't put my maidenname on my page so unless you know I'm married, no one can find me.

It's plenty of funfor arrnaging event and such with my current friends, though - we use it instead of trying to remember everyone's emails to set-up trips or to arrange events. I guess, that's not really the point of it, but it works for me.

On the west side of... of... somewhere.
I tended to lean more toward Myspace for a long time, getting Facebook a couple years ago. I didn't do much of anything with it, until recently. One of my HS classmates contacted me there (as well as on Myspace), and my first group I joined was for my class. We're discussing our 20 year reunion... even this far away (okay, so it'll be in 2010, but hey, we started last year).

I have friends from Chicago on there as well... and they keep me informed about all the stuff going on back there...

I just joined a large Cat group on there... I'm trying to subtly help educate others... TCS has been good for me! I also joined some local groups... in hopes of networking with others in the area and making more 'real life' friends. I have very few around here.

I actually didn't put my maidenname on my page so unless you know I'm married, no one can find me.
My last name is not on mine either... I'm not married. But I have an ex-bf who occasionally does 'net searches and tracks me down... so my real name is no where, if i can possibly help it.

I didn't put my maiden name on mine either. I've connected with a couple of people I knew from high school. The one that I have the most contact with remembers who I am

It is hard though- trying to find out what people are doing 20+ years after the fact. I guess it's because I moved away from home, never made it back to any reuinons (too far, family commitments etc). It's like people don't want to tell you if they've struggled or not after high school. Maybe they all want me to think that their lives have been perfect over the last 20+ years? HA! Like my life's been perfect- I'm not going to judge one way or another if you've struggled.

The main reason I joined is because half of my church is on there
And there's a whole bunch of youth group kids on there as well.

I've had a facebook since my junior year in high school (I am now a sophomore in college)...I haven't really reconnected with old friends, well maybe a few from middle school.. It's kind of pointless but every single student at my school has a FB and pretty much everyone adds random acquaintances as friends, even if they've only seen the person once. The easiest way for me to contact my friends is through facebook because they are less likely to answer a phone call or an email, and everyone is always on facebook .... Anyway I think it's terrible because of how it encourages gossip...I will find myself looking at my FB home page and find out info that I don't even want to know...and the level of drama in people's lives gets up to a whole new lever with facebook...That's why I never post personal info...

I have re-connected with many childhood friends on FB in the past year or so. Lots of us have scanned and posted old photos, particularly my group of friends from junior high...we all comment on the photos, and end up reminiscing about old times. It makes me feel a little nostalgic- and nostalgia includes a slight pang of sadness, but I wouldn't say it makes me depressed. More than anything, it's nice to catch up with people.

I have my Profile set to privet so only my friends can look at it and I only added family and people I care to talk to
I can't stand drama! It's why I have ditched AIM, MSN, Yahoo Msg, and myspace. I really just post to keep my family updated on how I am and how things are going with my pregency. It is alot eaiser then trying to call everyone and keep in touch. I can just write a general msg for everyone and if they want to know more they can call me!

I also have my account set to private,as I recently had someone causing some drama! Or at least trying to and she was getting in my buisness. So I deleted her and now it is private, for friends only.

I much prefer myspace! I am a myspace addict.
Although that site also has it's share of drama!

same here - i have family on there, plus it's the site the theatre companies use for audition announcements, etc.
most of my 'friends' on there are theatre people, family or TCS peeps... altho i do have some old high school acquaintances on there - plus an old boyfriend

I've found tons of high school friends, and recently I found my grandparents foreign exchange student from over 10 years ago, and since I've found her, she's reconnected with all of our family and will be coming to visit all of us from Denmark this summer

I hear you on that one! I cant wait for my 10 year reunion! I am dieing to see the "popular" girl fat. I know it is mean, but...

This guy that had this HUGE crush on me in like 6th grade found me on Facebook. It was nice to ceatch up and talk to him as an adult, rather then my memery of him being annoying.
