Chicken Soup for Cats Light?

Currently I feed Teddy (1 year) and Milo (9 months) Cat Chow as a free feeding dry. I want to switch them to something better. I was thinking about Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul Adult Light. I know my kitties are young, but Teddy already has a little belly, and Milo has the beginnings of one. I feel more comfortable having dry food free feed rather than rationing it out. Is the Light formula ok to give my cats because of their age? They also split a 3 oz can of Fancy Feast twice a day.
