Yesterday I brought home a feral kitten a friend found in a wood. Shes not a big eater, and not impressed by the kitten food I've put out, taking a bite or too. Her tiny little body feels so bony. She must have been so stressed by everything yesterday I can't blame her for not eating! Still it got me worried for her, I really hoped she'd eat more, I didn't want her to get sick. So in the supermarket today, I bought some roast chicken and some fillets. Now my idea is to cook up one fillet cut it up tiny and feed it to her. Keep her on the roast chicken all week encouraging her as much as I can. My worry is this, is the roast chicken enough? should I be mixing it with rice? how about vitimins? Basically, is roast chicken enough? Nefertiti is 6-8 weeks old, and after eating a few mouthfuls of the kitten food she had runny poo. Poor baby!

not really - it doesn't have all of the nutrients she really needs.
maybe mix 1/2 & 1/2 w/the kitten food at 1st, then gradually increase the kitten food proportion? most cats do better w/a gradual change.

I don't know if you have goats milk or lactose free cows milk in England but that's what we use to "bulk" up our kittens - the lactose free milk is especially good because it's quite high in glucose but keep trying with the kitten formula because that's what she needs. She may just have runny stools because it was so rich for her after not having a lot of nutrients, maybe water it down a little bit for her?

Good luck and keep us posted.

You could try getting some of that kitten milk supplement. Just chicken is not enough, I make raw every so often and it has vitamins, bones, skin and organs that get mixed in so the cats get all the right nutrients. If she likes it you could try mixing it with the kitten food (as mentioned) to try and get her used to it. Also, you can try lots of different varieties of the canned, maybe she'd like a different flavor better. Good luck
