I posted last week about my new kitten, Lil Bit, and how my two boys, Sam and King, were not adjusting well. It went from bad to worse, and my boys wouldn't eat or come in the house. So, I ended up giving Lil Bit to my parents. They were not thrilled about getting a kitten, but took up because I was so upset. Now they have stepped up and are treating him like a king. My question is...how much does a 4 month old kitten sleep? He seems to be extremely lazy for a kitten! He only wants to play about 30 minutes out of the day (unless he's playing all night). Is that normal? Could he be depressed because of all of the change? He purrs all the time and seems happy. Just wondering.

Jack slept alot when he was a kitten--now we both worked all day so I cant attest to how much he slept when we were gone but he still generally slept alot when we were home.

Has the little guy seen a vet? Just thinking that perhaps worms or some type of parasite might slow him down some.

Thanks. He went to the vet Friday and got wormed, first round of shots, etc. I just couldn't remember my cats being so sleepy when they were young. They sleep a lot now, but they are older. He's been through a lot, it seems. My husband found him at work. He was so filthy, with lots of scratches, etc. He has almost no front claws, because they are worn down to just jagged nubs, from what, I don't know. I am so thankful my parents agreed to take him, because he really needs a wondeful home!

He probably feels so secure and safe where he is that he feels he can sleep peacefully knowing nothing can hurt him now that he has a home. He was probably awakened by every little sound he heard thinking someone was going to hurt him.

My mother says he is playing really good in the morning! He's just a tired little boy. Maybe he's making up for all the time he was on the streets and not getting any sleep! Good point. Thanks.
