We decided the Jimmy Buffett song that applied was, "The Weather Is Here, I Wish You Were Beautiful."

Cool and rainy much of the week, except the time we spent snorkeling on Roatan. I either got a cold or a sinus infection from inhaling water there, though.

And I'm starving. I haven't eaten in minutes!

Your bodies will have to adjust back to not having all that food available 24/7!!

Hope you had a good time though.

OK, some pics:

First, we visited some friends in Houston who recently adopted a retired Ragdoll queen. She got sick or something, and had to be spayed, hence a new career as a lap cat.

Sunday morning, we went down to Galveston and looked around. We were supposed to have a hot rod meet at the Flagship Hotel the week after Hurricane Ike.

A monument to the terrible hurricane of 1900, also known as "Isaac's Storm."

We cruised on the Voyager of the Seas, seen here next to the Grandeur of the Seas in Cozumel:

This is the central promenade down the center of the ship. We are forward, looking aft. Our cabin window is the second one up from the Tardis...er, red phone booth.

When it was built, this ship was the largest cruise ship in the world. You may have seen a special about its building on The Learning Channel or some such. This is just one of the sets of elevators, 14 stories high.

Of course, we spent an important portion of our time at the trough:

This is what it looked like at the resort when we arrived there for snorkeling. Looked like a washout.

But 10 minutes later, the clouds parted, the rain stopped, and the sun came out. I am not in this photo!

When we left the ship in Roatan for our snorkeling excursion, it was pouring down rain. Over 100 people cancelled the excursion. We got to the resort, and it was pouring down rain. I stood under the porch while Dottie went and changed into her bathing suit. Yes, we were going snorkeling. Water is water, after all. (As an aside, the bridge of the ship has security cams all over. The one that makes them laugh the most is when they run through a rain squall, and all of the people in the pool jump out of the pool and run under the shelters.)

While Dottie was changing, the clouds broke and the sun came out. It happened in about 3 minutes. It stayed gorgeous until we got back to the ship. I went aboard in the sunshine. Dottie stayed out and checked out the shops on the dock for 10 minutes, and got soaked before she could get aboard.
