Is my cat scared of me now?

Last night I had a bit of an accident. My kitten is now about 8 weeks old. She's been sleeping in my bed lately because she didn't seem to want to be alone at night. She's also figured out how to get on and off the bed by herself to use her litter-box, and I leave some food and water also in the bathroom for her to use at night.

Well, last night I got up around 3 AM to use the restroom myself. I saw that the kitten was asleep when I got out of bed. Unfortunately, when I went back to bed, I had no night-vision since the light had been on in the bathroom and my pupils hadn't adjusted to the darkness. I didn't really think much about the kitten as I assumed she was asleep. When I went to get back in bed, as soon as I put my first hand on the bed (with the weight of my body), in less than a second I felt fur and heard a loud, "MEEEOWWWWWWWWWWWW!" screamed. I instantly realized that the kitten must have gotten up to see what I was doing and when I put my hand down with my weight, she got smushed!

I quickly turned on the light and went to her saying over and over again, "I'm so sorry Ally... I'm so so sorry."
While I did this I softly pet her and also was trying to ascertain if I had injured her in any way (broken bones, etc.) She seemed ok. The rest of the night went fine, she slept well, when I woke up she seemed totally normal and playful and seemed like that all day. I was really worried she was going to be scared of me or upset at me but all day she seemed ok.

Now, before I tell you the next part, let me tell you that over the last few days, her games have gotten more intense. Hide and seek, tag, etc. Today however, she seemed to play hide and seek along with "run from Lawguy" in the late afternoon/evening. She still is doing it.

I can't tell though if she's just playing, or if I've made her scared of me from that accident last night and I'm fairly worried.
She's hiding under the bed, but when I get her toys, she plays with them. She loves playing with me when I have a teaser on a string. When she was in her bed downstairs earlier she was playing with my fingers (with her paws) while she laid on her back. However, tonight with the run and hide, she just doesn't seem to want me to catch her.

How bad did I mess up here guys?

ETA: I bought some night-lights at Walmart to make sure this doesn't happen again.

She'll forgive you, cats seem to have amazingly short memories when it comes to stuff like this. I'm not sure if she's right now worried about it, she may just be playing, but don't worry, she'll probably be curled up against you again tonight

I have never mushed a cat, but I have stepped on some tails and elicited screams... and they run from me... but they always forgive me. I scoop them up and hold them close and apologize.
(these are rescue kitties - not my own)

same here. stepped on Cable's paw when she was a little one - she limped for a day or two [i saw the vet, he said just bruised] & kinda avoided me for a few days... of course, now she plops herself down in front of me & rolls onto her back
so she evidently didn't learn

also sort 'kicked' Firefox about a week ago - she darted in front of me just as my foot was coming forward to step. again, she avoided my feet for a few days, but she's back to normal, now [she's the most skittish of all of mine, anyway].
kittens' bones are like babies' & little children's - they tend to bend quite a ways before breaking. so, while it might have been painful for her, she's probably not broken anywhere. & she'll forget all about it soon, & will plant herself right where you're planning to sit [i have a couple who do this, even after i've sat on them
].

Yeah,
I have stepped on Sport a few times, and he has either forgiven me or forgotten about it.

I did the exact same thing with my Bonnie kitten about a month ago, so she was about 12 weeks old at the time, only I squished her with my huge behind as I got back into bed!

I apologized, turned on the light and felt her all over to make sure I didn't break anything, and she was quite peeved with me, but had forgetten it by the next morning.

Her nickname is "monster child" because she's a maniac kitten, tearing around the house like a demon is chasing her and attacking anything that moves. It's completely normal behavior.

They love to chase and BE chased, so the hide & seek/tag games are also normal. If you were a cat, it'd be much easier for you to join in, which is what she is hoping you will do.

My poor Bonnie was underfoot all day yesterday and got stepped on three times, once on her paw, and twice on her tail. Every time I turned around, there she was - you'd think she'd learn after getting stepped on once, but noooooooooo.

All is well. Turns out I was just being overly-worried. Once I finally exhausted her with playing (it took an hour of solid play!) she became affectionate again and definitely didn't hold a grudge about becoming pancake-kitty the other night.

I never had a cat before and never even wanted a cat (I considered myself to be exclusively a dog-person until now) so I'm learning about kitty psychology as I go along.
