I fed the cats.
Then I closed the door so Cleo would not come out here.
The door closed and Coco screamed loud.
It slammed on her tail.
I wish I knew her tail was in the door.
It is sore but seems to be ok.
I felt it.
Anyone else ever do that by mistake?

I managed to step on Dante's tail (thank goodness, wearing slippers, and I don't think I got him with all my weight) on the same day he had his dental cleaning. All ended well, but I'm still so grateful he decided to love me anyway.

Please dont worry. Ive done something similar a while ago. Daisy always sticks her face in the food cupboard when i feed them, this perticular day i was't looking and closed it, and i accidently hit her head, not hard though thank god but now i make sure she is well clear, and now SHE closes the cupboard! She didn't even twich a whisker, as they say "No sense,No feeling"! But she has always been nuts! These things sometimes happen,as long as your kitty is ok,best wishes to cleo and coco from caitsith,Tabitha and Daisy .

I once slammed Wiggies paw in the door.
Luckily, he was OK!
These things do happen, especially as cats are so quick and sneaky!
I'm glad Coco is alright.

I've shut the door on Jupey's tail twice in the past and Emmy's once. I still feel really bad about it and am paranoid now when shutting the doors. I think they've forgiven me though! Give Cleo a big cuddle from me!

Hiding from my SS!
I've stepped on a lot of paws and tails and I'm sure the door has been closed on one of them at some point or another. My boys insist on being wherever I am ALL the time, right under my feet while I walk and on me when I sit so accidents happen. Spooky gets the worst of it because he is all black and at night when its dark its like he's invisible!

I'm glad Coco is okay and everything is better now!

Oh I think we've all step on paws and tails. Many of us have caught paws & tails in doors. (Isaac's used to walk too close to the door jam when I was closing the door & given the length of his tail and the hair on his tail. He has lost much hair to the door jam). I've even closed Jordan's head in the fridge door on accident (one would think he would learn not to go in there.)

I tell Zane all the time, "If you don't want to be stepped on, stay out from underfoot!"

lol

Mitzi always has her little 'funny turns' underfoot. You just open the door to go out and in she runs at 90mph. If I had a £ for every time I'd trodden on her I'd be rich

Give Coco a big hug from me!

My Emmy sounds like Mitzi, I swear she's trying to kill me of herself!

We have had to prop all our doors open just in case. Daisy is the worst, she will sprawl out anywhere on the floor right in the door way or middle of the hallway. If you want to get past you have to step over her,she wont move! Or she will run infront of you an then stops dead,i end up falling over her if i dont stop in time. I swear i will break my neck one of these days! She has to be where i am, including the kitchen, which as a rule i never let her in while im cooking, but now she has her own little table to sit on so she can see what im doing so she is out of my way!

Just last night I caught poor Mau's tail in the fridge door. When a Siamese breed screams the whole block knows it! He was quite indignant with me for about an hour, and when I tried to comfort him he'd slap my hand away...with claws out! He forgave me once the chicken bits were put into his dish. Fortunately, no permanent damage, but his ego was bruised a bit.

Years ago, my Russian Blue had his tail maliciously shut in a garage door by a mean neighborhood boy...I mean completely shut on it! By the time we got home, he had pulled himself free, and the last third of his tail was a mangled mess. It had to be amputated...I think Blue got over it better than I did.

i say something very similar.
sorta 'kicked' Firefox the other night - she ran right in front of me just as my foot was coming foward.

tonight Chip decided [for the 1st time] to dart out the door. he didn't run off, tho - stopped to smell the bricks & i was griping at him to come inside. i decided to slap the side of the house w/the mail to make a noise [it was in my hand, since the reason the door had been opened was because i had gone to the mailbox & was coming back inside]. anyway, i ended up dropping it [many catalogs] & that was enough to spook him back inside.

One morning when I was over at fiance's, I woke up really early, and sleepily stumbled to the bathroom, I didn't realise there was a cat there, because it was dark, and I stepped on her tail very hard. She shreiked, and it was in front of 4 people, I felt so horrible! I've also accidentally kicked my cat before, but she forgave me right away.

I guess we all do things like taht by mistake.
Coco does have a sore tail but is ok.
She cries when Cleo tries to play with it.
