One thing I have certainly heard of here is a kitten may go to its first show with the breeder if its new family cannot pick it up in time to get the registration transferred and all the paperwork done beforehand.

More often here though if you end up with a decent show cat as a pet and express an interest in showing you will find the breeder on your doorstep on the morning of the show waiting to pick you up. All the breeders I know are really really great about supporting kitten families who want to get into showing. Heck, my boys aren't showable for one reason or another, but I still go to shows with their breeder, to help out and have fun and tell her how her babies that she bred are doing!

Ep, know what you mean. She was thrilled that when I asked for a kitten from her that I wanted to show. Most people just want a fancy purebred pet. She's going all out to get me a show boy.

I've gone to a few shows to help out a friend if I didn't have anything to show. I'm glad hubby has taken a liking to showing (my ex only pretended to like it).

It's a wonderful feeling to know that your kittens are going to be shown. Three of the kittens in my siggy are going to be shown this year (2 by my nana & I and 1 by a pet owner). I'll let you guess which ones, if you want
you've got a great eye for a cat!

Looking from left to right - #1, #2, and #4 are the show ones. #3 and #5 have too long of a nose....am I right?

Type wise, you are spot on.

However #1 doesn't really have enough white to be shown, it's just what you can really see in the pic and whilst #5 doesn't have the shortest nose she's got gorgeous eyes and she's a very unusual colour maybe the first one here in NZ.

So shown will be 2,4 & 5!

Maybe it was the angle on #5 - and all the white and pink nose. Just looked longer to me. I didn't know you had to have a set amount of white. Too bad with #1 - love the head type.

Got any better pictures to compare?

Yeah that's not the best picture of #5 - she's really a sweetie. Yup here in New Zealand a Bicolour must be at least 1/4 colour and a Harlequin is no more than 1/4 colour.

Ok she is pretty and typey. I kinda like the vans and harlequins a little better then bicolors - depends on the pattern. The vans just are sometimes more flashy to me.

Yeah me too! Believe it or not she's our first van (I HATE the word Harlequin but that's what our fancy calls them!). She's got no body spots just a little bit of colour on her back legs. We breed for flash bicolours though, my girl Fluffy has about one too many spots to be called a harlequin

Thanks

I also chose 1,2 and 4 also - but I was basing it on your siggy, and mainly on ears and nose, not anything else...hard to get small ears on tabbies hmmmm....

However! #4 looks like the coat is a little too long for Zots - CFA speak, but it could just be the picture!

If I had to choose between all of them, my pick of the litter would be #2!

LOL #4 is a Persian and the rest are Exotics!

It is really hard to get small ears on a tabby. I think the Persian boy [Sonic] has great ears - it's always much harder on an Exotic!

Thanks, that little lady is going to a show home!
I didn't keep her because her colour is quite common and her chin is a little weak.

I'm going to show the van and the Persian but not keep any of them! I've still got a Persian from her last litter [10 months] and my limit is 2 females at the moment.
