I always thought the difference in radio was because liberals go out and do, while conservations sit around the radio and listen to someone talk about it

Well, actually, yes. I've seen a great many of the liberals here talking about their daily activities volunteering at animal rescue centers. In numerous political threads they have spoken of donations of money and time to the poor, the homeless, the critters.

Most of the uber-conservative proclamation I've seen has been "not giving my money away", or "they can get a job", or some other such "they're on their own - me, myself and I" statements, topped off with "Rush says..."

A minor point, but in September of 1974, the same people said the same thing about Nixon.

The behavior toward Bush at the inaugural was shameful. What a crowd of louts and hooligans those people turned out to be.

I know, I know, the audacity to say "they can get a job", oh the horror of it all. And to not want the govt to take my money and give it to people who wouldn't work if you handed them a job on a silver platter, that is just the limit, isn't it? LOL

I think it called a lack of breeding or poor parental upbringing. I heard what some of the gansta rappers said about Bush at the Hip Hop Ball. Nice people.

For one of my classes I had to do a diversity interview so I had a nice discussion with a coworker who immigrated here from Jamaica. One of things she said that shocked her after moving here was welfare. She said there's no such thing in Jamaica, you either do or you don't. As a result she doesn't agree with welfare at all. Don't go yelling about me about it folks, I was just passing along what she told me. While I'm at it she also said that educational standards in Jamaica are higher than in the U.S..

Oh come on...be fair...many "uber-conservatives" who hold tight to their money to keep the government off of it do donate to worthy causes. I think that's a way of doing things. Without all those donations, no matter how many volunteers you get (your active "uber-liberals"), you need money to keep the place running.

So, "uber-liberals," go out and do, and "uber-conservatives" keep writing those checks.

My company has been laying off people over the last year so I happen to know many people that are now unemployed right now. Some of them have been looking for a job for the last 9 months with no luck. And its not like they are being picky about the jobs they are applying for. There are hundreds of applicants for every job out there, and even jobs at 10% of their old salary aren't available to them. No one is getting a job handed to them on a silver platter right now. People are trying to find anything that will pay their bills.

Yes, it is a horror to be in a position of having young children at home and not knowing if you will be able to feed them next month, or that you have to move in with a family member that is 100 miles away because you might lose your home. A very close friend of mine is going thru this, and we've offered he and his family our home to live in if he cannot find a job soon.

The economy is sinking fast and I hope that no one here has to make those choices.

I didn't make myself clear Momofmany, but I surely was not talking about those people. My heart goes out to all that are losing their jobs, I think it is horrible.
I was talking about the people that don't want to work and have no intention of ever working, the leeches of our society and there are many.

Skippy, I am sure that is what some people think but the facts are that liberals have tried many times to make it on talk radio and failed and you know that to be true, I know it is hard to admit. So if it is easier for you to spin it your way, go for it. That introspection is working good.

Talk radio did not make me a conservative, that is hilarious to even think talk radio could do something like that. To tell you the truth, I don't even listen to talk radio much, if at all. I was a Republican before I even heard of Rush or Sean.
