How many calories do you think are in Pounce? I'm thinking it would be comparable to Meow Mix or other poor quality commercial dry food. Maybe 400 calories a cup?

Bubba hasn't eaten treats in months and now since we're trying to get him to eat anything to gain back some weight, he's been munching on Pounce. I'll take what I can get at this point.

Dry treats. And yes, he's eating much better than he was before the surgery. He was only eating 3 oz of wet a day, which is what lead us to all the tests that found the cancer.

Now he's eating about 6 oz of wet a day plus the pounce. He's a big-boned and tall kitty. He's 10lbs now, but that was down from 17 a couple of years ago. I would say his ideal weight is about 14lbs.

I can't find the calories listed anywhere but I did find:
http://www.pouncecat.com/download/pd...runchy_pli.pdf

in which the statement:

"Cat Size Pieces per day
6-8 lb.......... 14-18
> 8 lb.......... addtl. 2 per extra lb
* Represents approximately 10% of daily calorie requirement for the adult cat."

I do not know what the average calorie requirements for cats are...

Glad to hear he is eating alot better now. Hopefully he will continue to gain weight.

Sorry, I'm not much help.

I realize I'm reviving an ancient thread but I couldn't find this information online so I ended up emailing Del Monte and getting a response. Posting here so that it's available at least somewhere online.

Thanks for visiting our Pounce website and for your email.

Pounce Moist Chicken flavored cat treats have about 3 calories per treat. If you haven't already done so, you may want to check with your vet to find out how many calories per day your pet should ideally consume.

I appreciate the opportunity to respond and hope this information is helpful.
