I am moving in a few weeks... in with a roommate who is allergic to cats. He suggested Allerpet C spray that denatures the protiens in the dried saliva on their hair. Ive googled it and it says its safe and completely non toxic... I also called my vet today and left a message to ask (nothing will be sprayed on my kitty unless its completely harmless). I havent heard back, but was wondering if anyone has had any good (or bad) experiences with this product?

Thanks!

I don't know about it - I've heard of people wiping the cats down daily with distilled water on a moistened cloth.

Basically - if you can cut down on the dander, you can cut down on allergy issues.

I used it way back when I had a roommate and had just gotten Raven
and Nabu. Her BF was allergic to cats. According to my roommate it worked. How I found out is kind of bad...I got ticked as he was a total mooch and was stealing my food so I stopped treating the cats with it.
Bad I know, but after they broke up she told me his allergies got noticeably worse after I did that.

How did your cats tolerate it?

Hate to bump an old thread but my girlfriend has COPD and I wanted to see if this might help with her allergies.

It's for sure the saliva as if she gives our cat a kiss on the nose her lips will flare up. But the main concern is the breathing. We have a good hepa filter which helps but I wanted to get some more suggestions and came across this product.

Should I just try using a damp microfiber rag/towel on our cat a few times a day? Maybe during feeding? Would it have to be washed each time or should I just use paper towel. Please help as the last thing I want to do is rehome my 6 year old cat who means so much to me.
