Berkley is "coughing" alot

Berkley has been coughing and making a hacking sound for a day now, it started yesterday morning. I thought it was a hairball and it would pass when she coughed it up. But, she is still doing it and dry heaving, not uncontrollably but still dryheaving.
Is this a sign of a stuck hairball or should I take her into the vet to see if she is having other problems?

It doesn't sound good. She's been doing this since yesterday? The longest my cats have ever gone with a stuck hair ball was a couple of hours. I would check in with a vet, even if it is just a stuck hairball I am sure that the vet can find a way to help kitty.

Berkley just coughed up a giant hairball, thank goodness. She acts like she feels ALOT better now.
